I love Fitrite. I can't quite make up my mind where it lies on the scale of shoe shops. It seems to stock pretty good quality shoes at wonderfully affordable prices. Yes, I know that sounds like a cheesy radio advert, but it's true.
I think it's best for its boots - heels, leather, suede, flatties, wellies, ankle high, knee high, thigh high - you name it, it's here.
The organisation is a bit confusing: I haven't quite figured out how it's all arranged yet, but it's fun having a good browse. The worst part is trying to choose what to get - I usually get sucked in by a tantalising window display, then end up picking 3 different things, going through a huge dilemma of trying to choose one, then buy them all. The problem with this is that although it's cheap, it's not that cheap. My brown suede boots were £25 in the sale, although the sale seems to be a pretty permanent feature. Watch out for the pashminas outside - they're good quality, but you can get them much cheaper in the nearby Undercover Market.
There's usually only one man working in the shop, who is helpful when you ask for advice, but leaves you alone otherwise.
There are some slim trainers, but not any sports specific ones, lots of pumps, and some bags as well. A great shop for women and a refreshing change from department stores or generic bargain shoe shops. read more
