The new facility is great. It's always clean and the set up of the gym makes so much more sense then before when it was Blast. I love the women's room, that you have an option to workout separate to feel more comfortable. Even during peak times there's plenty of machines to use. However, I am extremely disappointed recently with the customer service I received. Let me preface this by saying I am a manager at a large retailer. That being said, I know rules are rules but some can be seen past. My 67 year old father is in town from Michigan and I called up to see if he can get a pass( mentioned he was from out of town) and they said," yeah just go inline and fill out the form and he can come workout" now if it was such a strict policy on being from out of state, it should've been mentioned. First day we went, he got in, never got asked for an I.d. And we worked out. Second day, we went, he showed the guy the pass and he said he needed an I.D. So we had mentioned he's from out of state and he told us that he wouldn't be able to use the pass and we'd have to pay $16. (My membership fee a month is $22) pssshhh!!! So I ask to speak to the manager, who didn't even crack a smile or be empathetic at all towards the situation. Now his approach would've been different, I wouldn't have been so furious. But apparently it is black and white and no gray area. I drive from Santa Fe to go there because I loved the facility so now I won't. Don't bother signing up for this gym, cancelling is the biggest headache. I cancelled mine and my husbands months ago since we moved in September and they charged me their annual fee today. I called and they said nothing could be done that I would have to cancel again. I waited two hours in August to cancel and today I had to wait another two hours to speak to someone. read more

This location was OK. PRO: Spacious gym. Good equipment. Very organized gym. Cardio area and indoor track was on point. Basketball courts were a hit. Best I've seen in town. Con: Parking space sucks! Good luck finding parking after 5:00 PM. There is literally a sea of cars out for miles. I had to park way out on the other side of the gym near the restaurants. There are a lot of car robberies there too. They also close at 8:00 PM.... What the hell is that all about? read more

A gym that knows nothing about customer service or positive business deals. I walked in fully ready to purchase a membership but inquisitive about their fitness classes. I was answered with head shakes and a girl chewing food as she answered me. Then I was directed to their website for their class prices and schedules. I asked about a membership for classes only and was "no...we don't have that." No price options, no membership options, no tour just head shakes again. Then she asked the gentleman behind her at the desk, he answered her with a head shake and she transferred his nonchalant energy right to me. Very impersonal. Signed up for this gym back in January with knowledge that it'd be opening in "a few weeks", they definitely left out the fact that they wouldn't be open until August and I have moved from Houston since then. I called to ask for assistance with cancelling my membership and they quickly directed me to their website & hung up. Then I called back to get assistance finding my Key Card ID # which the receptionist abruptly said "Sorry we can't help with that" and hung up again. After the 3rd phone call for assistance he told me there was nothing they could do to get my Key Card ID # from them... seems odd since I'm sure that information must be in some sort of database... now I'll go digging through my bags to find my key card or I guess my only other option would be to get a new debit card but I'd like to avoid that! I came to check out this gym for the first time so I signed up for the free 5 day pass. I showed it to the girl at the front and she asked for my number and approved of me to walk in so I did. Next thing I know this other girl comes running out asking for my ID so I had to go all the way back to my car to get it. I showed it to her and she said since I was a member before I couldn't use the free pass. I used to go to the fuqua location SIX YEARS ago and I told her that and she didn't give a fuck and said we had to pay. Then she proceeded to only address my friend in conversation when discussing me while I was standing right there. This girl was so rude it's probably the worst customer experience I've ever had. I was with Blast Fitness but for some reason when they went out of business they transferred all their clients to Fitness Connection. I didn't even know until I got some $60 yearly charge on my account and was so confused seeing Fitness Connection.. I called this location and told them I wasn't a member but my card was charged and the lady told me to call their financial department. I contacted the financial department and that lady asked me for my phone number, email address and home address before I could ask her anything. Then she proceeded to tell me that Blast Fitness transferred all their clients to Fitness Connection. I told her I never consented to this or signed any papers agreeing to join Fitness Connection and asked for a refund. She told me I couldn't get a refund and that I would have contact Fitness Connection to find out how to cancel the so called gym membership. So I asked her why wasn't I notified by text, phone call, email or letter and she couldn't answer any of it even though they have all my contact information, all she said was that there was a notice on the website (that's a lie). I then contacted this location again asking how to cancel my "membership" and the same lady who had directed me to financial handed the phone to a man and he told me I had to come in and hung up. Fitness Connection should have contacted me to give me the option to transfer my membership or let it die with Blast. The customer service is non existent. This place is the same scam as Blast Fitness just with a fresh coat of paint and new equipment. read more

The Gym is exceptional and extremely clean. The only reason for 2 stars is the lacking of Customer Service which is bad and not to mention Corporate Customer Service is even worse. Even after the double billing they will not even drop the late fees for the bank denying the withdrawal. Fitness Connection rather lose 2 Coustomers over $20......than keep us and make 240 yearly. Kept implying that I was under a membership, staff kept implying that their manger was watching. If you have a guest pass and want to hoop, it's a no go so don't try it! He answered all my questions and helped me pick the best plan for my fitness goals. When i see him at the gym he is always smiling and willing to help people!! So a bunch of my friends signed up for this place back in like April, so I signed up a few weeks after it opened. The one thing I wasn't prepared for was the $250 enrollment fee, but I was able to just do the $99 enrollment and only have access to this location. For the most part everything is great, all the equipment I need is in there and usually isn't terribly busy at night when I usually go. My only complaint is that they had promised 8 basketball goals back when my friends signed up, and there's only 1, not even full size court, and since the gym has a low monthly cost, there's a ton of people who have memberships only to use the basketball court. There's pretty much always a full court game going on and a bunch of people waiting to play, and nobody wants to sit around and wait for 2-3 games before you can finally shoot a ball. read more

There is good equipment, but I had an awful first experience with the staff and policy. They sold me a pair of $5 gloves before telling me I needed to fill out a form a day in advance to actually go to their gym that day. They would not return the gloves and insisted on me buying a $16 day pass. I was extremely uncomfortable and unsatisfied. read more

If I could give it negative stars I would. I joined before the club opened and was told that my membership didn't officially start until the new club opened so my 1st billing for my yearly membership would be Nov 15th. Sounded good to me, I would pay $10 per month for myself and my husband starting when they opened which happened in August. Well . . . that's not what happened! 1st right after signing up I tried several times to contact the manager who I had signed up with; he didn't return phone calls or texts. I was billed in Aug for the month of Aug and then I was charged shortly after for my yearly, you know, the one that wasn't supposed to occur until November. So I called, I was told it was a mistake and it would be refunded. When that didn't happen I went into the gym and spoke to someone who was supposed to be the sales manager who told me that it was a mistake and the money was being refunded to my account. He also preceded to tell me that the person I signed up with is no longer working there, funny, he's listed as general manager and we have both received emails from him and continue to today. A week and a half later when the refund didn't happen I went in AGAIN, the sales person wasn't there but one of the employees took a message down and put it on his desk asking him to call me. I never received a call back from anyone. My husband called when we were DOUBLE BILLED for this months dues. He got a similar story when he asked about the yearly dues . . . "oh the person who told your wife that doesn't work here anymore". That's weird since you wrote down a message for him and I watched you put it on his desk. Each employee you speak to tells you a different story and using the "he doesn't work here anymore" response seems to be there go to for whatever problem. So at this point I'm out a lot of money, no one will call me back and I'm lied to when I do speak to someone. I just want my money back and to be done with these idiiots. I recently joined the gym, and I'm not thrilled about it, honestly. I chose Fitness Connection because it was the only one with fitness classes that were late enough for me to attend with my work commute. The gym does have nice amenities, too. But, I have to say the staff are a big letdown, and the sales tactics are spammy and scammy. The person who signed me up wasn't rude, exactly, but she wasn't friendly. And they wanted me to give them names and numbers of my friends to call and hound to join the gym... NO, THANK YOU. This isn't a multi-level marketing company, and I'm not going to let you SPAM my friends for members. And the pricing isn't very upfront. There is an initial fee, then a monthly fee, and an annual fee that apparently hits in April. I'm doing math to find out how much the gym will cost, and it really should be all upfront. I want the service, there is no need to try to trick me to pay more. And getting a tour of the place was almost an act of Congress. Another gripe is I really want to get a fitness trainer. That is handled through a separate company within the gym. Well, to get PRICES for the service, you must first go through a fitness assessment. Prices shouldn't be a surprise. I want the service, I just need to know how much it is so I can adjust my budget. I went through the assessment, and I have to say those employees weren't rude, but not exactly nice. Overall, I'd say no one cares here. The employees definitely don't care. They don't smile, and they aren't helpful. Even with the hidden fees, the gym is still one of the cheapest around for the amenities it offers, but after a week I may just cancel. Bite the initial set-up fee and find a gym that cares about its patrons. I'm ready to make major life changes for the betterment of my health, and I need support in that. I am having the same problem as others have posted. I came over from Blast (having no say in the transaction since Blast just sold the memberships to them), and am now trying to cancel the membership. I did file the cancellation notice, but am now fighting the annual fee. I have been trying for three days to get someone to talk to me about it. I had a Customer Service guy return my call, but all he did was put me over to the Cancellation department. I don't know how this is going to turn out, but I would not recommend them to anyone based on the customer interactions I'm having. read more

This gym is a scam. The 250$ enrollment fee and inconsistent prices for membership are absolutely atrocious. Why is the 250$ enrollment even necessary? Other gyms like Planet Fitness have a 5$ enrollment fee I think. Other gyms are more worth your money than this one. Although I constantly would tell the associate that I was waiting to make my decision and try the gym for a few days, they treated it like a shady car salesman. Even before my trial they tried to trick me that signing up for a free trial had to include all of my banking information. Also, regardless of what the reviews tell you about cleanliness, it isn't clean. I've seen gum on plenty of the machines and nobody seems to wipe up their machines after themselves, even employees don't clean them. read more

Today I brought my husband and they wouldn't let him workout even though we had a guest pass like they have done before. Today was different. They said he had to buy a membership and didn't even offer a day pass. My husband got irritated and the manager tried to literally pick a fight with him. He said "you want to step in my office?" First things first, i have been with them since this building used to be blast fitness then i cancelled my membership and came back a few months later to find out everything changed. I was fine with that and i liked the newly renovated gym with a lot more equipments. However, they charged me a lot of money to start the membership( close to $200). I said i'll wait until another promotion to get the membership and the manager came out and told me they definitely will not be having anymore promotions after this for a long time and i am getting the best deal. I took the deal and a week later, they had $10 down / $10 per month promotion. They will lie straight to your face just so they can get your money. I hate the hours they got. They close too early especially on weekends. After work, i cant go to gym because of it. So i cancelled my membership a week ago and they don't make it easy for you. If you ask them how to cancel membership, they'll just tell you go online and fill out the cancellation form. What they don't tell you is finding the cancellation form online is the most hardest thing. Its all the way at the bottom of the page under "contact us" and not under "my account" or "membership". Even if you manage to sent the cancellation form, they will charge you for another month because they consider it as a 30 day notice to squeeze that last penny out of your pocket and if the time for annual maintenance fee falls in that last extra month, they will charge you for it too. In conclusion, great gym but shitty management. Will not recommend this one anyone. read more

Terrible management and false information given by marketing staff to gain memberships. Staff is not adequately trained and "can't help" with any information on cancellations. I was told the gym would be 24hrs and that's the reason I signed up. When they finally opened I tried to work out after work and the gym was closed. The next day when I called I was informed that there needed to be more demand for later hours. I gave it another (almost) 2 months more, without being able to work out due to my schedule, and when I called today I was told I was "misinformed" and that it would probably be at least another month until they switched to 24hrs. Absolutely ridiculous that they would advertise and tell clients false information. To top it all off, when they did finally open, there was no notice that they were actually open and would be charging the first months memberships. It would have been helpful to get some sort of notification that my account would be charged. Then they charged my account four times for two memberships (one for myself, the other for my husband). Which caused me to incur overdraft fees. Save yourself the time and headache and just avoid Fitness Connection. read more
