I figured it was time for an update of my Fitness Connection experience. I don't really deal with very much staff, except Dawaina (sorry, no idea how to spell), but whoever put her at the front desk in the mornings...great choice. She is super professional, greets everyone with a smile and is really helpful. Actually, when I first joined I had several negative interactions with staff (to include a Supervisor), so I have mostly avoided FC Staff. Lately though, my experience has been more positive. I come to many of the Zumba classes with Minette, Sarah and Joy. All are high energy and really fun. I also recently tried the new Hyrox Complete class and loved it. read more

This facility was created with woman in mind. It's beautiful with an open floor. I fell in love with the sauna in the woman's locker room here after my late night glute workout last night. It's clean and well kept. It's their new location! There is a separate room for woman to workout in and the equipment is top of the line. That was one thing I loved about their Longley location that's closed. The only downside to this gym is packed. Maybe I'm old school, I'm in there to get my workout done and I'm on my way. I prefer quiet spaces and avoid crowds. Although it was a zoo last night, I got an amazing glute workout in and I was able to relax and meditate in the sauna afterwards. read more

I would really rate it a four for two reasons that I'll get to soon. But the five stars are to help regulate the unknown hate this place is receiving. The equipment is always clean and functioning well. When there are tears or signs of wear, it's almost immediately replaced. You are certain to receive a greeting as soon as you enter, and I have never left unnoticed by the staff. It's the little niceties in life, like a "have a nice evening," that are underrated and much appreciated. The missing 5th star is due to two things: 1. A lack of regulation of the gym junkies who walk around, pose shirtless, and slam their weights. I understand a little of this, but certain policies to help mitigate it would be a splendid addition. 2. Gym hours. They need to keep it open later on the weekends, which is simply a byproduct of needing more staff. All in all, great gym, great equipment, and great price! read more

Price is about half of what some other gyms in the area are but it's crowded and doesn't feel welcoming (dark atmosphere or something). DO NOT SIGN UP UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE A MEMBER FOREVER! You can't cancel at the gym, you have to call a special number. The hours for this number are inconvenient and the hold times are ridiculously long! When you finally do cancel, you will be charged an extra month. read more

I'm very shocked by the reviews. For $10, I am impressed at how nice the equipment is and how much of it there is. I counted 8 squat racks, EIGHT! I've been to plenty of more expensive gyms that had only a couple. They also have around 4 punching bags and an endurance turf track. The women's section has the only smith machine in the gym. It is seriously incredible that they put it in there and gave us exclusive use of it. The sauna was working and extremely clean when I went. I appreciate that the saunas are not coed. This is exceptional for $10 a month. There really are a lot of crazy people in this city, some of the reviews are barely coherent. Taking off a star because I'd love to see a Jacob's ladder and an adaptive motion trainer. The lateral machine is cool and the same idea as an AMT, I do like it. read more

Personal trainers committing identify theft and credit card fraud to members in the gym and " District Manager" Julio Soto ignoring, lying, and covering up the theft. I was a member at the Reno location for several years. After I left to travel for work. A personal trainer in fitness connection took my information and sighed me up for bunch of "personal training" that I didn't know or approve of (they now have charged my card over $600 for personaltraning that never happened) the district manager Julio Soto was completely aware of the theft and helped protect the theif Keith Wilson by lying and later just trying to ignore the problem. The staff and the district manager Julio should be completely ashamed. I highly recommend anyone reading this to look into other gyms in the area. Sadly the staff and management at Fitness Connection cant be trusted and steel and pray on their members. read more

I haven't been to the gym for a while (due to personal health reasons) and so I was so looking forward to going back today. Unfortunately, it started to rain but it still didn't deter me from going and apparently, it didn't deter anyone else because when we arrived at the gym, the parking lot was full. I had to circle the lot three times before I finally found a place to park. When I walked inside the gym, there were a few empty treadmills, but the weight machines quickly filled up and people, as usual were hogging the machines once they got a hold of it. So, I did probably half of my routine before I decided to leave. Oh well, I got some workout in today. read more

And when you go cancel they say they gotta charge another month for a gym you don't even want to go anymore! And I have no contact.people working there don't know what they're doing! And on top of it gym is always packed can't use any machines and the people on the machines are kids messing around just on the phone. read more

When you buy a "gym membership" you are actually buying a sauna membership in disguise - the AC never works. If you like working out in a building that's 85 degrees inside then by all means. I personally am not a fan of pumping iron in a furnace. read more

Really great gym and atmosphere with good equipment options. Though I am not happy with the cancelation process. I went in store early December to cancel and was told everything is good and no more charges would take place. I was then charged for a regular month for January and then also the $50 annual fee. I called customer service and was told my account was not canceled and there is no chance of refund. I was also told I had to pay for February because it is less than 30 days notice. Not happy at all losing $90 just to cancel a gym membership. read more

Hi I entered the gym last night about 8:50 pm upon entering propped Open Door so no security, looks like people are playing half court basketball as they were checking the ball from the half court, I shot a basket on 1st court within one second all of them come running down while I'm getting my ball. Confused but willing to find out more information, I went to the front desk I asked what time the full court session was over, young man, said, he had no idea and there is no control over the basketball court whatever goes whatever is whatever goes your facility is not going to do anything about it, as you have no control over your court and how it's managed or used. Since over 50% of my reason for joining your gym was to use the basketball court I asked for it to be canceled I would like to know as I was told by the manager who enrolled me that I could walk away anytime for any reason and I wouldn't have to have anything, stopping me that's the only reason I joined on 7/31 yesterday was 8/15, plus he told me I would be billed on 8/19 so I didn't want to get an annual fee. He said he'd put in a request, I haven't heard anything, my phone number is 775-xxx-xxxx my name is Brandon L I need this membership canceled, I'm not interested in attending the gym where I cannot use the basketball court with any reasonable expectation which is over 50% of why I joined I really think it's unprofessional you guys have no control of your basketball court no systems in place that's bad business practice in my opinion especially when you have a small area you could have another area for basketballs seems to be popular there. Please confirm cancellation request? I was never told about a 30-day notice or anything like that either, I was told I could walk away anytime by a manager, No Commitments, but if I have to give 30-day notice, which is unfair, It was given yesterday, and I did not work out I left. Best gym in reno nv for the price. They have all the equipment you would need and then some. The equipment is always clean and in working order. If something breaks, it's not broken for long. Love the community there as well, everyone I've met have been friendly and motivating. The trainer they have there currently ryan, maxwell is very knowledgeable and skilled with whatever your goal may be from weight loss to body building. He was very informative and helpful for me and my wife, I've been a regular gym goer for about 6 years, and I learned a lot from him in a short time. I highly recommend Fitness Connection. read more

I'm going to the gym on kitzkie center . The front desk treats me very rudely and disrespectfully it's crazy. They will greet everyone comming into the gym with a smile except me. And I feel very unwelcome there. As a person who works in the services industry I understand that it's my job to treat people with kindness and compassion and atleast smile and make people feel welcomed however I'm the only person who is not greeted at the door infact they seem disgusted the minute I walk in the door. I left due to the young looking girl at the front desk nearly there every morning. She has long, dark hair, dark eyes, and she looks a bit like Layla Jenner. She has her head down in her phone most mornings and will ignore you if you talk to her while she is on her phone only for her to realize after you attempt to talk to her and you are leaving that there was a guest she ignored - this has happened a few times. Her greetings seem forced when she is not on her phone, and it is tiring dealing with this obvious display of fake cheeriness because it is exhausting being polite in response to someone likes this - it is obviously a display from her. After a very frustrating interaction today, I felt it necessary to review based on the Kid's Club for other parents. Once they opened, we were told the Kid's Club was open M-F 8am to 3pm. We then planned on bringing our kids after a half day at their school at noon on a Wednesday. Once we walked in, no staff member talked to us and the Club was dark. We exited to speak with the front desk and a dark haired woman helping another guest proceeded to scold us from her desk. She didn't stand up, introduce herself, try to assess the situation, she just continued to argue about us getting our kids out of the room. I confirmed that their dad was indeed grabbing them and she just stopped talking to us. I still don't know who she is or her position, but a younger gal came over to repeat the hours listed on their sign to us. We explained what happened from our end and left with the kids. We obviously would not show up with our children outside of club hours on purpose. Shame on you for treating us so poorly after your staff gave us incorrect hours of operation and we were not effectively notified of any changes. TL;DR - Please let parents know when your hours for kids club change either via your app (which we both have installed) or via email and train your staff how to properly assist your members. read more

I do not recommend this GYM, they are dishonest, when I registered they gave me a false promotion and then they charged me. I did not know how the annual fee was, which I know all gyms do but they told me it was not for a year and there was no registration fee and they did it both times, I tried to cancel it twice and the third time they did it and they did not want to refund my money because I did not notify them a month in advance which I did two months ago, so be careful and better drive a little more to Planet Fitness, cheaper and better facilities, more hygienic and less smelly read more

The gym has nice equipment and the workers are super helpful, came by to pick up a 5 day passed and they helped me with everything, the only thing that was not so great about my workout was that for a whole 2-3 hours I was not able to reach the abductor machine because everyone was using it, guess I was too slow but other than that, 4 stars! Didn't even use my membership and even though they try to trick you with $10 a month, you get billed $15 a day until your card goes through.. like life doesn't happen, we can't be checking monthly cycle. When I signed up and first opened up, they said bringing a guest like planet fitness was free with the VIP, that was a lie and it was fine I paid for my wife, then she was doing yoga in the far room near the basketball court and she was rudely kicked out by a gentleman who said he was a manager in a black FC shirt. Directly after that and to this day, they allow anyone in there dancing, people playing in there not with any fitness trainer or worker and run around and use all the equipment in there, so they mistreated and lied to my wife in front of me. She then ended up canceling before me because the cleaning person would clean machines while she's on it, same thing happened to me very unprofessional, I had to tell them to please wait! They allow people to film setting up multiple cameras in confined spaces, people do not wear shirts, there's no culture on cleaning equipment, they oversold memberships and people are just there to joke around. Absolutely ridiculous which is why I canceled. I had been a member SINCE HIGH SCHOOL when it was a Golds gym on Longley and then FC and then moved to its present location, but could no longer handle the disrespect and how disgusting it is and how much they charge you with classes only being offered during STANDARD WORKING HOURS, nothing earlier than 8 and later than 5. Only 2 people were nice honestly, which was also one of my final reasons to leave permanently. read more

There is no AC in the Kietzke location and it is always uncomfortably hot. I asked the staff why it was so hot and they said they only have fans with no plans to get a real AC. Andrew was super unaccommodating and lifeless. I'm in town visiting my friend from Vegas and we attempted to get some form of a guest pass or preferably the five day free trial. He presented us with two options: one being a membership of my own with a $79 down and an additional monthly $15 and the second my friend could pay $25 dollars for the day but according to their own policy posted to their website "a member may bring a guest with them every day". He never once mentioned the five day free trial, which when I mentioned it, he said we would need an appointment- an appointment to present him my valid I.D and sign a waiver. He said we can come back at 6 (4hours later) to look at my valid ID and get the waiver signed. This could have been accomplished initially. The lack of cooperation was so awkward and unpleasant. The tone he kept was condescending and we felt like he was deceiving us and hiding the option to do the guest pass on purpose to spend more money. He was eager to defend this new "policy" without sustaining the ones actually claimed on the fitness connection website. read more
