Dorian and Derrika Johnson have answered their calling in changing people's lives to be the best versions of themselves. Yes the workouts are hard. Yes you'll want to thump him on his big forehead most days (not Derricka bc she's too sweet) but you'll leave feeling accomplished, wringing with sweat, and exhilarated all at the same time. From day one you are a part of their family. The best thing I ever did for myself was walking into their gym. They make working out so much fun. I've always been a clock watcher at the gym but when I'm there the time goes by so fast and before I know it, it's over and he's telling me to clean my mat and get out . God love him. Fit From the Core is awesome! It truly is the best place to get in shape or even just move a little. All ages are welcomed and all ranges of athletic ability are welcomed as well. You can go at your own pace, but it is the best environment to push yourself and have a great time while working out. Dorian the trainer will push you, encourage you, and cheer for you. His wife who pops in often is precious as well. Organized workouts have always been the best for me personally because it keeps me accountable and the workout is made by a trainer who knows how to target muscles etc. I've never been truly excited to go workout until I found my FFTC family. A year ago today I decided to make a change. Before doing so, I was terrified, I actually ask Dorian if I was going to die, he promised me it would be tough but told me "no deaths sis". What he didn't tell me is that I would fall in love with working out, improve my self esteem, meet new friends, reconnect with childhood friends, convince my husband to join, do 2 obstacle course races, run a 5k, and accomplish many other things. I am so glad that i found Fit from the Core!! I have always wanted to work with a personal trainer, but most of them will push you and not listen when you tell them something. I have found that Dorian is very caring, he will push you but he also listens to you. Myself being a breast cancer survivor, it is hard for me to jump right back in and lift weights like most people and Dorian works with me knowing one arm is much stronger than the other. I am blessed that a friend told me about him. I don't go like i should and Dorian encourages me to come more often. He is an awesome trainer and i would recommend him. A friend invited me to join her at Fit From The Core several months ago. I finally did and loved it!! I've been an exercise junkie for 19+ years. I realized years ago I may not feel good in the moment but I feel better afterwards! Although I've had times of feeling burnt out or discouraged I've tried to stick it out. I had back surgery 7 years ago and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that at every class I've attended (@ end of week 3 now) I've not had to modify anything and I've not felt achey (bad back achey) from anything I've done!! I've tried any and every fitness program you can think of, and none of them have captured my interested like FFTC has. I genuinely look forward to going to Dorian's classes... I recently made the leap to join after months of debating, and I can say i'll never go anywhere else! For the first time in my life, I'm excited about fitness. FFTC is an absolute game changer. Not having to think about what workouts you are going to do? It's the best. Other honorable mentions: You just have to show up. I love the camaraderie that comes with pushing through a difficult workout together. Dorian is awesome about giving modifications if you need it. I LOVE Fit From The Core! Dorian creates a comfortable atmosphere and makes getting your butt kicked FUN! He is knowledgeable and engaged with his clients during every session - he expects 110% and has pushed me to limits I didn't know my body had! I have been reluctant to go to any type of workout classes for fear of being judged, but Fit from the Core has been nothing but a pleasant experience so far. Dorian and everyone attending the classes go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I love that he modifies the exercises depending on your ability level while still pushing you to step out of your comfort zone to attempt difficult skills. I've always responded better to coaches (or trainers) yelling at me so FFTC is right up my alley. JK, I'm still new so Dorian hasn't yelled at me yet but I know it's coming and I'm looking forward to it. Laying in bed almost a month ago, I decided I was tired of the choices I was making in my day to day life. I wanted to feel good and be confident again. Started my second week with FFTC, amazing trainer, music, workout, and all around a great experience! Getting back into working out again and getting out of my comfort zone was a little tough but I knew if I continued down the path I was going it would be tougher. "Accountability is the glue that ties Commitment to the results". Although I haven't been in much, I still do the workouts at home or when I'm at work. Working out at fit from the core has been such a positive and awesome experience! Dorian, is hands down the best trainer around. If you're questioning wether or not to try a class out, just do it.
