This has got to be the best gym I've ever worked out in. A weightlifters dream with all the great…read moreequipment, new and well maintained. Gym is not crowded, each time I was there , there might have only been 2-3 other people max. Service is friendly and accommodating. We got a weekend pass as out of state visitors. Pro tip: register on a weekday, since weekends may not have a front desk person to assist Recommendations : 1) test out your access after registration. Make sure to test with door locked to avoid possible subsequent issues 2) bathroom stall was out of toilet paper, so hopefully some more can be stocked up. Overall, would definitely return to visit the facility if I'm back in the area. Keep up the great work.

WARNING ‼ IF YOU ALREADY WORK OUT HERE:!…read more Heavily scented air fresheners like the kind Marshall uses are known carcinogens and linked in studies to hormonal and reproductive concerns! I was really interested in joining this gym because I like their approach. It reminded me a lot of a gym I went to in Washington where the owner would text me and check in on me if I hadn't been there in a while. And they have a couple new coaches who seem exceptionally knowledgeable. But. And this is a big but. There's one major problem: They use a very pungent air freshener. It's so strong and overpowering it makes me feel nauseous and/or lightheaded. And it makes it impossible for me to work out and breathe heavily in the gym. What's weird is a lot of these reviews mention the gym smells really good. The air freshener smell is identical to a hotel I stayed at in Lovelock NV that had a casino and was trying to squash the smell of cigarettes. It's not a clean fresh smelling "scent". It's like the "plug in" version of an industrial HVAC system. Or like those super strong car air fresheners. It's really too bad. I would have loved to work out here. Must mention: Coach Kenzie is amazing. Marshall, I'm begging you: Please stop using that air freshener!!!!

Can't say much about this place. I've been a few times for a class or two :)…read more The gym itself is incredible. Very clean, so much space, great selection of weights, cardio etc. If this place was closer to where I live, I'd definitely get a membership. It's very impressive. It's clear whoever runs/owns this place had a beautiful vision for a gym and they brought it to life. I only hope for wonderful things for this gym. It deserves all the best. Coach Nate is one of the best coaches out there. Another wise move by the owners to hire such a kick a$$ coach. The man knows his craft and knows it well. You want a coach who takes his job very seriously, knows exactly what to do to help you achieve your goals and is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet? Go here and ask for Coach Nate. You will not be disappointed. Another short review for me?!? With is happening to me? Haha! If you read my reviews, you know I write novels haha! I think I covered this place pretty good though for someone who has been just a handful of times. If you're a Meridian resident or hell, even Boise residents...who don't mind Meridian's traffic (because I loaaaaathhhe it hahaha!) and you need a top tier gym...definitely check out D1. Get you a membership and then request Coach Nate and BOOM! You're set! You won't be sorry!! Thanks, Yelpswoles! Cheers!

Eventually, he was left with no coach at all, despite us having already paid for his sessions. From there, communication completely fell apart. I repeatedly reached out by phone, email, and text, trying to get his remaining sessions scheduled. Appointments would be made and then canceled, over and over. Before anything was resolved, the Boise location shut down. We still have 13 prepaid sessions that have never been honored. Since then, I've emailed, called, and messaged the owner (Shaun Wardle), along with coaches and managers, anyone I had contact information for like Ryan, Booby, Keena, Hudson. I have received no response from anyone. I've also tried to transfer my son to the Nampa location so he could simply use the sessions we've already paid for, but I've had no success. This is the first negative review I've ever left because I don't like criticizing businesses, but this experience has been incredibly frustrating. The lack of communication, professionalism, and customer service has been unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend signing up with D1. I simply want the 13 sessions we paid for to be honored or refunded so we can move on.

The Mecca Gym is a gem of a training facility located in a strip mall area right off the freeway in…read moreMeridian, ID. It is tucked back in such a way as to allow for back door access to the back lot for Prowler runs, farmer's walks and tire flipping. Owned by local natural bodybuilders and powerlifters, Eric and Kacee Cafferty, the locals all have a sense of ownership and familial bonding after only one visit to this gym. Go in without your headphones on and you'll see what we mean. Everyone is friendly, willing to help, coach, co-train and chat about pretty much anything. We saw a 130# gossipy female (very entertaining) trying to pr her squat with a 210# beefcake mainstay of the club. All of the equipment is top-of-the-line and the Cafferty's own several unique pieces we have not seen anywhere in the Treasure Valley. These include a Nautilus pec-deck straight from Venice Beach, a Roger's squat (if you haven't worked your ass-quads-core in this remarkable piece of equipment, a visit to The Mecca Gym is worth it just for that.) and a seal row bench. The powerlifting staples are of the best quality we've seen in the entire state and if you are trying to just work on your Big 3, this is your gym. Cardio equipment consists of a row of treadmills and a step mill. They also own a Jacob's Ladder, which is great. The step mill has no platform for a phone or iPad to watch a movie so that's disappointing. The staff is all sincerely friendly with welcome greetings, big furry smiles and surprisingly, the females don't annoy us with their friendly chatter. The "Mecca Family" (meaning the members) are always available to help spot you, inform you or give you a tip on how to hit that little-know muscle group or to share a new delicious recipe. The reason we gave The Mecca gym only 4 of 5 stars is that it also offers tanning and childcare-neither of which are note-worthy or worth it. The child care room is always unmanned and you have to ask a staff member to hang out with your kids. This would be fine for older children, but if you have a little one, training over an hour gets you feeling guilty as there are RARELY any kids to play with here. They do have a tv and the kids can watch movies or play with the plethora of trucks, baby toys or a toy kitchen. Also, there is really no set limit on the childcare hours like at other facilities so you could come with the kids at 3 am and train until noon if you so chose. Also, you could let your kids hang out with you on the floor as long as they are well-behaved. This is something you really don't see. The tanning bed was used by us twice in a row and not a drop of color after 15 minutes which tells us that the bulbs must need changing. All-in-all, this is decidedly FABULOUS gym and we could train here for hours!

We walked over to take a look and happened to chat with one of the owners. I returned the next day (today) and my timing was impeccable as I met the other owner, Chelsi. I then decided to do a "drop in" workout for just $10.60. I used the stair climber, free weights, benches, and bike and got my sweat on and my energy out. You'd be surprising how stressful a pickleball tournament can be as a parent ;) There were a few other folks working out while I was there, but the facility is so large, I felt like I had it all to myself! This is such a great concept... I wish I had one closer to home. I would absolutely be a member if I were closer.
