I LOVE Kickboxing is not only the name but what will happen to you! I had been doing classes in…read moreanother location and, after struggling with years of back pain and problems, I finally decided to get surgery. My surgeon asked me what my goal was after surgery and I told him it was to get back to kickboxing! He looked at me quizzically and told me he'd do his best. Yesterday I celebrated my 200th class on the mat! My story is one of many of us who are older (I am 56), have injuries past and present, and STILL get what we need to from this workout. The community at this gym is beyond words and I have made some of the best connections with my fellow fighters. We are welcoming and loyal, kind and strong, we want each other to succeed and give each other grace on the hard days. The coaches show up for us every single time and we show up for each other. It seems like a scary workout (I know!) but you'll be surprised at how strong you are or how strong you will be after coming for a few months. In this incredibly trying time in our world, I am thankful every single time I step on the mat and get to kick and punch out my worries, frustrations and anger. This leaves me to be a better version of myself for many reasons. Gloves on - World off!

We tinkered with it (once a week, maybe) for the better part of a year until my wife announced that we'd be taking a 6 week fitness challenge offered by the gym on April 1st, 2024. To say thing accelerated at that point would be an understatement! Results from the 6WC are undeniable. My and our experience is that the community, support and culture is unmatched. I felt incredibly welcomed and not at all embarrassed. The classes are extremely accommodating for all skill levels and the instructors could not be kinder or more encouraging. They foster such a wonderful atmosphere of learning and belonging while also providing an incredible workout. I'm so sad I moved away and can't attend anymore; every other class I've tried has been 95% workout/cardio and 5% actual kickboxing, but GIRLS Gym truly got into the fundamentals and know how while also providing an awesome work out! I will forever remember the incredible girls I met here and what they taught me.
