The food court is a big bonus and something we look forward to every visit. With the live grill and multiple spots for comfort food, it's easy to eat before heading home. On top of that, shops seem to be renovating or popping up almost every month, so it feels like a new experience each time we visit. They also have fresh bakeries and desserts to take home, which is always tempting. Prices are great with a membership card, and every trip feels like a Costco-style stock-up run. Just remember to keep your grocery receipt handy since carts are checked at the exit.

So we went and it indeed had everything. The longest line was for Grill City. In all honesty, I feel like Grill City is a bit overhyped. The kare kare didn't taste like my father-in-law's. He makes the best kare kare. But you can't beat home cooking. Too bad my FIL is in CA. The liempo was good, but how can you really mess up grilled pork belly? However, I did like Sizzle. Their bangus sisig on a grilled platter was so delicious! I was jealous of my husband's pick. I also really loved the items at Valerio. Reminds me of Panorama City in CA. Everything here was light and bright and it smelled clean. Would I come back? Only if I'm in town. Next time I'll bring a big cooler.

I frequent here for bargains like seasonal items like moon cakes月餅, New Year cakes年糕and other casual pastries displayed at the entrance. Most of my trinkets for my annual Lunar New Year UYE's are found here: White Rabbit Milk Candies大白兔奶糖, Morinaga Milk Caramel 森永牛奶糖, Chinese New Year's shortcake candies 徐福記酥心糖 and Point 100 Gummi Candies. This is my go-to place for my medicinal soups and ready-made traditional Chinese medicines (TCM 中藥) - all made by reputable companies. They have high end stuff I couldn't touch: birds' nest 燕窩, ginseng 人蔘, ganoderma 靈芝and exotic herbal medicines. Whenever I need anything for my house, I come to Hong Kong Seafood City because all merchandise is imported directly from the sources. I am never disappointed with the friendly staff's recommendation. They helped me decide for each occasion. The prices are always competitive and products are always fresh. Don't be misled by the category, this "seafood market" sells dried, frozen or canned seafood. Don't expect fish tank here.

The drive through moves fast and the staff make ordering quick and easy. I got the fried fish, fried shrimp, and french fries, and everything was fresh, hot, crispy, and made to order. The fish was perfectly seasoned and flaky on the inside, the shrimp were golden and crunchy, and the fries came out hot and satisfying -- no soggy nonsense here. Oh yeah and a slice of white bread...You can tell nothing is sitting under a heat lamp. Prices are cheap, portions are generous, and the quality is way better than what you'd expect for the cost. Just a heads up: cash only, but it's 100% worth stopping by the ATM. And don't skip the lemonade -- easily some of the best lemonade you'll find anywhere. Perfect balance of sweet and tart, and it pairs perfectly with the fried seafood. If you're looking for authentic, no-frills, old-school Houston seafood done right, Hank's is a must. It's close to Costco and H-Mart, and near H-Mart you'll also find Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jours. There's an 85°C nearby as well and with Costco right next door, you could easily spend half a day hopping between all these places. On weekends, traffic can be pretty crazy and parking isn't easy since everyone shops then. However, if you come on a weekday especially outside of lunchtime--it's much easier to find a parking spot. Inside 99 Ranch, there's a food court with options like San dong noodles, dim sum, stir-fry dishes, and Chinese barbecue. On the other side of the plaza, there are also several restaurants, including Korean spots and Vietnamese crawfish places. As for the store itself, there are always clearance items near the Kung Fu Tea area, which we usually check out before heading in to shop for fruits, produce, vegetables--pretty much everything. I found my favorite Japanese soy milk but this was banana flavored. Way too sweet for me and it was $4/carton. It's a large store and they offer a loyalty program. If it's your first time visiting 99 Ranch, you could easily spend an hour just roaming the aisles. There's so much to see--it almost feels like a little field trip every time we go.

Then he proceeded to help every other customer who walked up after me. When I finally asked what was going on, he suddenly told me I needed to get a number--something that was never mentioned when I first arrived. This was rude, dismissive, and extremely unprofessional. There was zero communication, zero courtesy, and no accountability. Watching someone intentionally skip you after you've been standing there waiting is beyond frustrating and disrespectful. Customer service like this is unacceptable. If you don't want to help customers, you shouldn't be working in a customer-facing role. Management seriously needs to address this behavior because it reflects terribly on the business. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they enjoy being ignored and treated like they don't matter. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Ended up going to H-Mart down the street. Much more professional.
