Located at the junction where fish and chips collide (or, more accurately, Station Road and Church Hill in Northfield meet), Fish 'n' Chips Junction is the local chippy for the area. Firstly, I must express my disappointment that, despite various neighbouring local businesses, such as Mr Car Parts, embracing their small, independent business heritage, Fish 'n' Chips Junction sticks out like a sore thumb, as it looks nothing like what you'd consider to be a traditional shop of the type. The hoardings, styling, and menu boards above the counter are all much closer to your standard generic takeaway than a chip shop that's been serving locals for years. That being said, the prices are very good (£3.80 for cod and medium chips), and all the usual suspects in terms of alternatives (fried chicken, burgers etc.) are available. Most importantly, the quality of the food makes up for the shortcomings of the shop itself. read more
