I have stayed at properties ranging from the oldest Town Place Suites to Ritz-Carlton and everything in between and have never been so disappointed in a room as I was with ours at the Delta in Menomonee Falls. 1. The carpet had actual holes in it. Not small holes, large holes that were right in the middle of the seating area and could not have been overlooked. 2. The shower was stocked with one bottle of shampoo, two bottles of conditioner, and no body wash. We found this out while my daughter was already in the shower, when we just all wanted to get clean and head to bed. 3. Despite booking the room for three people, only two wash cloths were provided. Again, this was discovered when the third person was getting into the shower. 4. The toilet paper holder was missing the little bar to hold the toilet paper so the roll was sitting on the back of the toilet. While this isn't a huge deal, these pieces are like $5 at Menards and this was clearly observed since the toilet paper roll was placed on the toilet instead. It's just not a good look. 5. There was a horrifying splatter stain on the bathroom wall under the mirror. I don't even want to think about what this could be. 6. There were stains on the wall of the entry way by the coat hooks. Again, how this was overlooked and not cleaned is unthinkable. 7. The comforter on one of the beds was yellow and clearly soiled. This was obvious since the sheets that it was sandwiched between weren't covering the long edge of the comforter. This was noticed when going to sleep so the option was to sleep without the blanket. 8. The television wouldn't work. It turned on once but showed only a blank screen. We turned it off to restart it and it wouldn't turn back on. 9. We decided to watch a movie on the iPad instead but the WiFi wouldn't work. 10. The reading lights next to the beds were so hot to the touch they were dangerous. 11. The light over the coffee machine area would turn on but provided no light at all. While some of these things could be overlooked, the entirety of the experience is concerning. These items were so painfully obvious that this is beyond a "mistake" and instead speaks to a staff who willingly chose to ignore the state of the rooms and rent them out to paying customers anyway. It's frankly disrespectful of customers to allow a property in such disrepair to be available. Not only would I never recommend this property to my worst enemy, I would gladly write a review detailing the items above to ensure that anyone looking to book is aware of the state of the rooms and willingness of staff to overlook basic upkeep. Luckily I had other things to do for my birthday and the stay at this property was not the central event as it would have completely ruined my celebration otherwise. It's worth noting that I did email the above to management upon checking out and received no response. I also replied with this feedback to the automated survey and DID receive a reply with an offer to credit 15k points to my bonvoy account, which has not happened to date. I also asked for follow up on why the regular points for my stay appear to be 1/10 what they should be and have yet to receive a response on that.

It remained very nice. Now they have split the hotel into the Delta and the Fairfield Inn. The lobby area has been updated and it is lovely-sleek and modern. My suite was spacious and stylish. It was very clean with all details on point. It was very comfortable. Emilio at the front desk was incredible. He was welcoming and helpful. He made me feel appreciated and cared for. He elevated my short stay and I look forward to returning soon.

The conference space was up on the 12th floor and it had a great overlook for the surrounding area. The space was large and the food setup was great - hot and cold breakfast, juices, tea, coffee, etc. I would come here again for a conference but probably wouldn't stay the night given some of the other reviews.

There is a light breakfast available starting at 6:30am and evening snacks beginning at 5pm. Parking is $12/night and the hotel is conveniently located next to a mall with other stores close by. Access to the bathroom is a sliding door which saves space and avoids any awkward door conflicts since it's situated right next to the main door. A few things to note: 1) This is likely the first time that I have stayed at a hotel without a bath tub. In the past, that was not an issue. But with two toddlers, we had to get a little creative with bath time. 2) I was a bit disappointed that they did not give out welcome bags for members with diamond status. But I did like that members with diamond status gets the closer parking spots. Although I feel like anybody could've parked there because I don't think anybody monitored. 3) The pool is a nice perk. The water was warm and the facility was well stocked with towels. Our girls had a blast. 4) Breakfast consists of a small hot bar with two servers to assist and another section of pastries, cereal, juice, fruits, and milk. Not a bad deal for $10 per person. 5) Room service is not provided unless requested the night before. Unfortunately with toddlers, there are usually plenty of surprises. We woke up to one of the girls having an accident and we had to request room service the morning of. They were kind enough to accommodate and arranged for a staff to clean our room.

I spoke with a nice lady named Mimi when I was a few hours out and she assured me I would have a room when I arrived later in the evening. She reserved a room for me with just my name. When I arrived, Mimi was gone but another nice lady named Aloha was at the desk. She said there was no reserved room for me but that she could accommodate my needs. In fact, she was very kind and attentive; and after working on her computer about 10 minutes, I had my room key card in hand. This is where the issues began. Although everyone I spoke with during my stay was very pleasant and apologetic for the issues, I continued to deal with problems getting into my room (three trips to the front desk, which was quite a walk). Finally the third key card worked to unlock my door. I stayed put in my room after that because I was afraid I'd be locked out again. The room was a nice size and looked clean and neat enough but there was only one trash can so I had to move it to a central location to keep from walking from one end of the room to the other when needed. I did not ask for another one since I was only staying overnight. Furthermore, only one set of outlets near the bed worked. I'm glad I noticed when I plugged in my phone otherwise I would have been very disappointed with a dead device next day. I did notify the front desk about this issue. Also, the weather stripping around the door was missing so I could hear other guests coming and going, coughing and hacking and talking all night. Next morning, I requested a late checkout but the maid still entered my room despite my putting the door hanger out. Not okay! Overall, I'm glad I stayed only one day. I will not be back.

The food was prepared well and in a timely manner. The hotel's location is also very good. It was a manageable walk from the Amtrak train station. The staff at the front desk were Midwest-friendly, professional, and likable. Not a single complaint. This would be my go-to spot whenever I return to Milwaukee.

YOU MAY NOT GET THE ROOM YOU PICKED OUT ON THE APP Be cautious that if you book a room on the app before arriving, they might try to put you in a different (worse/noisier) room when you get there, telling you the 'view' is better. This happened to us and I overheard it happening to someone else checking in. The room they chose to put us in was facing the street and extremely noisy. (Not worth the so called 'view'). After unpacking and getting ready for bed and trying to bear it, we decided to ask to switch rooms (to the room we'd originally booked on the app!) We packed up and moved to a room facing the alley, although it still had *some* street noise, it was much better. I think they try to put you in the 'unsellable' rooms in hopes that you'll stick with it. We still had to wear ear plugs and run the A/C at night to drown out some street noise. You might argue that any downtown hotel would have have street noise, but I don't think this older hotel has very good insulation. Read on for the PROS AND CONS... PROS ~Friendly, accommodating staff, really can't fault them. Kathy in the breakfast room is especially friendly. ~Decent location, walkable to the airport bus stop, Avis, Harley Davidson Museum, River Walk, Pabst Mansion. Most attractions were a 15-20 minute walk. For sights further by the lake (i.e. Milwaukee Art Museum), we took a ride share. It would have been more convenient to be closer to the waterfront, but this is reflected in the price. (Which I thought was still expensive!) ~They gave us some drink vouchers to use in the bar as we were celebrating an occasion. That was a nice touch and we enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar and the friendly bar tender. ~Clean. ~Daily housekeeping service. ~We paid for the breakfast buffet as part of our tariff, which was in a dining room with a buffet all but one day (a Monday) when they had us pick off the menu as there weren't enough people to warrant a buffet. Despite the buffet, waitstaff serve your drinks, so factor tip into the price. Try to get a table with Kathy serving you. ~Standard room amenities like iron/board, safe, decent shower, pump toiletries, large TV, mini fridge. ~Three elevators that always came quickly. CONS ~Noisy, especially if your room faces the main road. A lot of noisy motorbikes, sirens, people blaring music. The hotel can't help this, but it didn't seem like the windows were insulated very well, perhaps due to the fact it's an older hotel that's been renovated. I would not recommend staying here on this factor alone. ~Small bathroom. We like to both be in the bathroom getting ready in the morning -- one shaving while the other is putting on make-up, etc. The bathroom was definitely tight. ~When we checked into the first room they put us in (we later switched rooms), the A/C was soooo cold. We couldn't adjust it, so they sent a technician out to fix it. ~When we switched to a different room, the TV didn't work, so a technician was sent out to fix it the next day. ~Older hotel that's been renovated -- you can tell by the popcorn ceilings. ~No pool. ~Still quite expensive for the location/noisy rooms. ~Breakfast is not completely self serve, so tipping is expected. Well I recently changed companies and there was a gap between the last job and this one. Money was tight due to some personal issues that had to do with me leaving the last job and having a gap. I was checking in on a Monday to start work at my new company the following day so I did not have a company card yet. The hotel was booked and paid for by my new employer and my reservation was for 12 days. As I mentioned I'm a loyal Hilton customer and I use the Hilton Honors app. The day before check-in I used the app to select my room. I think this is where the problem started. I had a personal card as my payment method on the app and I think that when I checked in it switched from using the payment method my employer provided and switched it to my personal card, which did not have a large enough balance to cover the 12 days I would be staying. So my check-in did not go through. I calmly tried to explain this issue to the front desk attendant and she was absolutely uncaring, I think her primary concern was that she did not know how to resolve the issue so she just wanted it to go away. She insisted that the only card they had for this reservation was my personal card. I offered to get some info and call some people and stepped aside because there was another woman who needed help. Turns out the other woman was trying to sort out an issue with personal vs corporate payments but hers was a bit different than mine. I tried to step back up when that woman went back to sit in the nearby chairs but the receptionist told me she was still working on that woman's issue. She eventually called a manager and after dealing with the other issue asked about my issue and the solution was simple and something I had politely suggested earlier. The entire time she was uncaring, responded with blank stares and made pretty clear she didn't care if I slept on the street that night. I've been in Homewood Suites several times before. This one is new but it's not well designed. In the king suite there is one table and chairs that are taller than dining table chairs but shorter than bar height chairs. I am using the bags of supplemental blankets as a foot rest so that blood flow isn't being cut off as I sit to do work at the table. Other locations have also had a small work desk with a suitable chair. There is a built-in nightlight at the bathroom sink that can't be turned off. I covered mine with a band-aid. In the shower room and toilet there is a door and a motion sensor light. In the middle of the night it's like a flashbang grenade. I had to put two band-aids on that one. I don't really like the shower but it's a 3/5. The AC is like so many now. It lies. It turns off in the middle of the night. The breakfast is pretty average. There is usually a sausage, then they have had Chicken Tinga or Chorizo and Potatoes. Yukon Gold potatoes and scrambled eggs. Waffles, yogurt, oats, sweet baked goods, bagels. A condiment bar with a green and red salsa, jalapenos. Only one dispenser for regular coffee so it is often empty. Their OJ is in a pitcher and the cups for it are extra small, plus it has a chemical taste. I'm not a fan of hotel breakfast in general and this is no different than most. Oh, the dish washing machine is extra loud, like crazy extra loud. You can also hear every footstep from the room above, so I'd opt for a 4th floor room. Even thought this hotel is new the laundry is coin-op. EDIT: After the owners response I want to say that I have had exceptional experiences with the shuttle drivers. All of them. I should have mentioned that. Also, besides the person I dealt with at check-in I have had positive experiences with the front desk staff. However, the chair issue is too much for me. I will be looking for an alternative when I'm in the area and I will be back often. I need a foot rest and my makeshift solution is not cutting it. I cannot comfortably work at the table because the chairs are too high. I appreciate the response. Thank you!

Their morning breakfasts are great, as are evening specials, like spaghetti or pizza feeds. Their most memorable stay was when we were expecting to check out to catch a flight, but it happened to be on 9/11, so nobody was flying. They were completely accommodating and we stayed for several extra days, at a time when being close to family was important.
