I was quickly seated and greeted by the waitress. I gave her my food and drink order at the same time. It took at least 10-15 mins to get my drink order. I ordered coffee and water. When she came back, she only brought the water. I had to remind her about my coffee. When the food came out, I was about done eating before she ever made a rear appearance. They were not busy, just saying. I ordered from the holiday menu, the cinnamon chip pancake breakfast. It came with one large pancake, two eggs and a side of sausage or bacon. The food is always good. But this First Watch does not remind me of the First Watch in Athens, GA. The service was not the best, however the restaurant is smaller than what I expected it to be. Our waiter tended to forget about us outside and the person assigning tables just completely seemed like she did not want to work there at all. The ambiance was nice, good lighting like most of the locations. Just not the best service after running 10 miler. Very good drinks though ! Never disappoint on the cocktails they have on the menu. Pretty disappointed in the situation at First Watch today. It was extremely busy, as anticipated, so I understand a long wait time. What I had a hard time with is how inaccurate their estimates were - again, I understand they cannot give me a precise time until a table will be ready. However, given the demand for seating, I think they can work on estimating wait times. We were told 30-45 minutes. Waited an hour before asking for an update, in which they said we still had 6 parties in front of us. Frustrating, yes, but we knew this wasn't in their control. So we ordered take out which estimated our wait to be 10 minutes. We went in to pick up when it said it would be done... and the app kept adding on a minute, then another minute, then another etc. We ended up getting our food 35 minutes later. I know this management understands the demands on a Saturday morning, and we would have appreciated a more honest (or even over estimated) wait times. We spent almost two hours of our morning waiting for service that was far inaccurate. Icing on the cake was receiving the incorrect drink... ordered a morning meditation and didn't seem to get the meditation part (it was just OJ). The food still tasted delicious, but would recommend working on more accurate estimates... especially on the things you can predict - to go orders' ETA. read more

We went on a day off for both of us which never happens. Did online checkin and got there and was immediately sat outside. We had our dog with us so it was perfect. The food was so good, the pancakes were huge and so yummy I ate them the second day because I was so full from one. The only bad thing and that's for people who may be allergic and that was the bees or yellow-jackets were everywhere. Dropped my wife off at Hobby Lobby that left me with an hour to kill. Found 1st Watch without difficulty even though there's dozens of food places at that Freedom Way strip mall. I had the Quinoa power bowl and coffee. Both were worth leaving home for. I compare all my coffee to Starbuck's Americanos, so I'd rate 1st Watch coffee about a 7.5 out of 10. It was strong, but bitter. What I'm always looking for is the taste of coffee. Too often, restaurant coffee gets overheated which kills the flavor I love. My wife loves coffee ice cream because it tastes like coffee. That was missing here, but I drank the whole pot, so it was good, just not great. As for the Quinoa bowl, I couldn't ask for anything more appetizing or satisfying. The service was spot-on. I ate outside with a slight breeze, was given a full pot of coffee, was visited a couple of times, plus I wasn't rushed. It was all-in-all a very pleasant meal. My go-to when dropping off Cindy at Hobby Lobby is the biscuit place that's a stone's throw from the Hobby Lobby entrance. The Quinoa Power Bowl didn't leave me feeling as if my life was endanger after eating it. The same cannot be said for a biscuit topped with a fried chicken cutlet, bacon, egg and smothered in gravy. That's a meal that reinforces the fact that the American diet needs improvement. The Quinoa Power Bowl from First Watch was every bit as satisfying without the fear of losing 60 minutes of your life expectancy. Choose your own adventure. S'all good! read more

A waitress came over quickly to take our drink orders and give us more time with the menu. I chose: -- Watermelon Wakeup-- Watermelon, Pineapple, Lime Juice and Mint | Orange Juice -- French Toast -- Custard-dipped, thick-cut brioche bread with whipped butter, powdered cinnamon sugar and warm mixed berry compote, Home Fries and Scrambled Eggs with Cheese -- | Fruit Cup The Watermelon. Wakeup (which was on their summer menu) was deliciously good. It should stay year-round. The Orange juice was tasty, without pulp and not to sweet, yet not too tarty. The French Toast came by itself and I had to add the Scrambled Eggs with Cheese and Home Fries. I basically ordered TWO meals. Still delicious and I will order it again. Waitress did not harass us during our meal, yet checked on throughout. No hovering. Loud ambiance due to groups of people throughout the restaurant. Nice breakfast | brunch spot. This was our first time visiting this restaurant and I'm so glad we did. Despite it being very busy, we were immediately seated, with Allison as our Server. She was a very busy lady, but despite this kept a wonderful, cheerful attitude. I had the traditional breakfast and my wife had an egg breakfast with mushrooms. Both dishes came with a two slices of the most wonderful toast liberally slathered with butter. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself has an open floor plan. It was clean and cool. We had two of the their signature breakfast drinks, the Purple Haze, and a Watermelon Drink. Both were delicious. Presentation looked nice but as I began to eat, noticed a real fishy taste...not salmon fishy but spoiled fish taste. After scraping off sauce and egg yolk covering, noticed discoloration of salmon. Light gray strips in meat; indication of spoilage. Three indications of spoiled smoked salmon are taste/smell, sliminess and discoloration. Couldn't verify sliminess as salmon was covered by sauce and egg yolk. Informed manager of same and was told that it couldn't be spoiled as the restaurant just received the salmon this morning. (Like impossible for wholesaler to deliver spoiled goods.) Be weary of the salmon. read more
