Angela is incredibly gifted at meeting each child's specific needs, and working with the child as well as the family to ensure that the children are in a safe and enriching environment. My children have flourished academically, socially and emotionally. The curriculum is creative and flexible, with a good leaning towards STEM and problem solving. One of the things that I love most about GP is that children of all ages are in the same classroom, creating an intricate social structure. There is also strong communication with parents and many opportunities to connect with other families. I was looking to give my daughter a great start in her development and could not be happier with Angela's school. It's a very personal and hands on teaching style that my daughter loves. I actually have a hard time getting her to go home some days because she is having so much fun with her friends. My wife and I both work, and it's hard to leave my child's upbringing partially in the hands of other folks. It was really important to me to find a school where my daughter would be learning, but also feel loved by the teaching staff. I personally think Garden Path is the best pre-k school you will find, probably in the entire state of Illinois. I love that's it's also home based so my daughter feels like she is in a safe and comfortable environment every day. Many of the big volume day cares near me are trying techniques to make the building look like a home inside with cabinets and furniture, but those still feel like a school. Garden Path is an actual home, that hides a pretty awesome school inside! My personal fave: They use tadpoles software everyday and I get to see videos and pictures of what the kids are learning and what field trips they may have gone on! You have to pass Biometrics and then a separate door with a passcode on a keypad. They do pick up from about 5 or 6 schools around West Knoxville and my daughters happened to go to one of those so that is very convenient. They have a specifically labeled bus. They also have a pretty cool summer program for kindergarteners and above filled with field trips and educational items. It is conveniently located and off the street of Kingston Pike in the Farragut area so anyone in West Knoxville will be happy. I definitely recommend this to any parent looking for a place but I know they are rarely free and always filled up which I suppose is a good thing. Kids won't stop and neither will this staff. The head director is pretty involved and asks me what we are doing daily and I know you don't always get that from staff at a childcare location. Highly recommend

We were treated inappropriately and then our child was removed from the program, while our other child was on the waiting list for 8 months and was told they would have a spot after he/she was born. At the last minute, we were told that our second child did not have a spot because of a long waiting list and because I was taking 12 weeks maternity leave and that was the reason. This situation left me with a newborn, a two year-old and no daycare at the last minute. When we asked the owner what we are supposed to do for child care her response was "you have child care, you are on maternity leave for 3 months." I want only the best for my kids and this was not the place for my family. The turnover with staff is beyond anything I have ever seen...and should be considered a red flag. One of MCA's best employee/teacher was treated so bad/unfairly and disagreed with how we were treated that she left. My advice is do your research and if you have any reservations...look elsewhere!

I sent my son here after…read morehe had previously attended a very well run daycare in Downtown Knox, but had to transfer him to a West Knox care facility when we moved.. He showed up a bright eyed, well behaved, and happy little boy - and left a year later constantly crying because he didn't want to go to school, coming home with bruises and scratch marks, and apologizing to me most nights because everyone called him a "bad kid". NO THREE YEAR OLD SHOULD EVER FEEL THE WAY THEY HAVE MADE MY CHILD FEEL. If you want to send your child to a care center that smells like dirty diapers constantly because they only change the trash once a day, or forces your child to pee with the door open so a classroom full of kids can see, feeds kids lunches out of cans everyday, and only allows children (2) half hour recess sessions a day - even on the most beautiful of days - then this is definitely the place for you. Oh, did I mention that they won't provide you with tax documents, or accept any payments other than cash/check? No camera's in the facility or classrooms either. No locks on the doors. Anyone can walk in at any time. This care facility is truly something out of my worst nightmare based sometime in the early 80's. There's a huge lack of mental stimulation needed to help children in their most impressionable stages, and they are forced to, instead, find ways to entertain themselves in small, dark, and dingy classrooms where they are playing with toys that are mostly broken and contribute next to nothing to their cognitive development. If you're looking for good, reliable, and educationally challenging care for your child in the West Knox area - I highly suggest you continue looking elsewhere. We checked-out four different facilities and decided on Cedar Bluff Play School. We've been quite pleased since day one and don't regret our decision one bit. The staff and owners are very personable and are absolutely great with little ones. Our daughter couldn't be happier to see the CBPS folks when we drop her off and that means a lot as a parent. As for the gal who left a 1 star review...well, you can't make everyone happy. And, as I mentioned above, we looked at several different facilities before deciding on CBPS. 1 Star?! Yeah, right. No way! Young children have dirty diapers that have to be changed, but I've never smelled dirty diapers at CBPS. They're there somewhere, but I haven't stumbled upon them or their scent. Feeding kids out of cans?! They have a kitchen and the meals are cooked daily. In fact, the owners make sure there are plenty of supplies so that children get all they want to eat. (No kid is going hungry on their watch). Kids forced to entertain themselves in small, dark and dingy classrooms w/broken toys?! I don't know where this lady had her child, but it wasn't the CBPS our girl attends... You're not going to find a better group of people to care for your children. These folks are fantastic!
