I started using him bc I was new In town and was referred to him by a friend. She is a accountant…read morefor a large law firm so I think they charge a lot, to do their extra work. Might have not been the exact right choice for me, since I'm a small job. I used him 2 times / one was for two years of taxes and one last year. I got my taxes done finally which is a plus... but I will say not the price or way I was expecting. Before I had only used a book keeper, and quick books certified tax person. Price was way better. In the end she actually had me owing way less money so not sure who did what right. I will be honest and say I am very unorganized and the first year I had a bunch or receipts and invoices, etc. I was told it would be $500 per year and this is me and my husband/ small biz and one w2. When I went to pay it was $1500 bc of all the adding of receipts. I was disappointed but I thought my fault bc I didn't ask enough questions or have my totals done. I used them again for last years taxes but it was actually done this year. Was told it would be $500 and was charged $750. I had my receipts added up this time . I called to make two changes one of which was Mysti a mistake. A large one. I have an Assisant that is $1200 a month , she had at 1200 a year. I am told They charge $290 a hour: and bc of those changes they had to charge me for a extra hour. Also I was dealing with the front desk person Mysti, the entire time, never saw paul once. She would even say paul needs to look this over, so I'm assuming she is doing all the work. I don't know what her credentials are but I don't see how having her enter them( totals done) and him reviewing it took 3 hours. I think the goal was to charge me enough to not make me return. That was accomplished. Also with having a biz, I literally had to say can I use this as a write off or that? And it's always only half or no u have the max instead of creating new categories or putting in a category that works. Sadly he doesn't seem very thorough and doesn't seem to work for me as a customer to get me the most deductions allowed. just a mass assembly line , to get them in and out. I will try another place next year, the place is clean and the furniture nice. It's inside and old bank and they are both nice. Just not used to the impersonal feeling I got, even when I tried to make small talk, they just seem annoyed 24/7. Maybe just the tax business. Either way I will Update my review next year after using someone new. I noticed all his other reviews are literally the same days so seems like he had friends write them.

Would highly recommend Paul and his talented staff for all your accounting and taxes needs!read more

DO NOT USE. They are…read morecareless with your SSN and sensitive info, which is ironic given their company name, Guardian. Not only did their employee, Madelyn Thompson, incorrectly enter one of our email addresses, but she also "accidentally" attached a document containing our SSNs and sent it to our realtor. NONE of their documents sent in the email were encrypted in any way. They are merely sent as email attachments. A proper company would use a third party secured medium to send sensitive documents, but not them. If they are too cheap to pay for a third party to handle sensitive documents, why not do the bare minimum and encrypt the PDF documents? It's FREE. When confronted, the owner responded by blaming the lender by saying "Unfortunately, it happened to be the only document in our entire file that contains your SS# - which we do not require or need - IMO lenders should not be sending that piece of data to the title company for a purchase transaction". I sent that to the lender asking if that is true and was told in their experience of handling over 1 billion dollars in loans with various title companies, they have NEVER heard of a title company NOT requiring the SSN. The title company is supposed to ensure you are who you say you are. How would they do that without your SSN? Absolutely absurd how they handle your info and thanks to them, we get to lock our SSNs.
