No, we made the mistake of using one of their competitors who took +5 visits over 2 months to complete the task. However, once that headache was resolved, we did make the RIGHT DECISION to partner with SERVPRO to complete the repair portion of the process and thank God we did because we had the privilege of working with Mr. Gordon Brown, General Manager; SERVPRO. From the beginning, Gordon took the time to insure we had a clear understanding of what the repair process entailed including potential "surprises" that might arise given our particular situation and his vast knowledge and experience that he had accumulated over his career in the construction industry. I could go into exhaustive detail and cite numerous examples of Gordon's promptness, attention to detail, ability to delivery, and just creating a comfortable working relationship with my wife and I but I won't. Suffice to say that Gordon Brown was the major reason why we are now avid SERVPRO clients and will recommend them to all our friends. We put up with it once but not twice: * Carpet was left filthy. Dog hair and grime left on the carpet. Lots of it. * We pay the minimum "3 room" rate ($125). Normally they make up for this by also cleaning our couch and easy chair - usually takes the guy 5 extra minutes. * Cleaning guy refused to do the couch, even though he was in and ready to leave after cleaning the one room in 15 minutes. He said, "I have other places to clean and I'm running behind" * When we showed him the dirt we were able to scoop off the carpet, he said "if you're not happy, just take it up with my manager about making it right" and took off. * We called the manager, mentioned the still-dirty carpet and the couch not getting done. He said, if you want the carpet cleaned again it's $125. * We said, we just had it cleaned today, and it's not clean. Will you make it right? He answered, if you're not happy with us, call another cleaner, and hung up. I guess, sadly, avoid these guys, they have lost their integrity.

This is how Jancewicz operates: You call, they arrive and send up a drone for in depth photos of roof. Impressive. They come in for discussion of job. You choose slate and ridgecap colors. They come again in a week with contract which is always exceedingly high. Ours was $14,000 to replace a handful of tiles and two ridge caps. Yes, I've asked other customers and roofers about them--always high priced. Also they left the chimney repair out of the contract. The drone showed damage, it was discussed, but not included. I asked about that and the rep shrugged. Red flag! They brag repeatedly about this "great 80 year old company... " to impress you. So they are great, reliable etc. Right? Don't fall for it, they are no better than anyone else. But, out of desperation to get the roof fixed before winter you sign the contract. They come out with old, raggedy used slate. Not new slate which can be expensive and would help to explain the high cost of job. Explanation was that they couldn't match the old slate. This wasn't brought up by rep. Also brought ridge caps that are not your color. Sent them back for correct ones. Towards the end of job, Jancewicz demanded an additional $3000 for the chimney repair work on top of hefty $14,000 slate roof repair. "No way, should have been in contract," was my response. "We'll take care of it!" We hired a local company to repoint and replace flashing at roofline for $800. Great job. No more leaking into ceilings. Saved $2300. Yes, I'm wiser now. The job took 10 days, not the 3 days they stated. It wasn't rain that kept them away as they were no shows on some beautiful clear days. Go local, get referrals from people you know. These guys are no better. They advertise, that's all.
