He told us exactly where he saw issues in potential homes. Our previous realtor had tried to tactfully dismiss a lot of concerns with "every house has it's problems," which was frustrating. Don was frank about things he thought were a good value or overpriced, so we felt confident with decisions we made. He also saved us from undervaluing our house! We were so eager to sell quickly that we wanted to start with a fair price on the lower end. Don encouraged us to consider the market and start at a higher price (with reassurance that we would lower it in a week if it wasn't working). Within a day, we had several offers above the higher asking price! As for availability, Don was incredible at quickly answering our texts, calls, and emails.

Helped clarify local rental law requirements and guided us along the way for the buying process. As we're out-of-state buyer, Don was also extremely helpful by visiting interesting properties for us and take video to allow virtual open houses effortlessly. Really fortunate to get Don as our buying agent especially in a crazy seller's market these days.

Bethany was great every step of the way when it came to finding and buying our home in Lafayette,…read moreIN. We had limited time to look for houses because we were living outside the country before we purchased our home in Lafayette. Bethany went above and beyond to communicate with us even with a 6 hour time difference and limited access to normal contact methods. She is an expert in the area and knows every part of town and what to expect for prices and availability in the different neighbors. She really listened to what we wanted and took extra time to make sure we saw every house we wanted. I was especially impressed with her commitment to helping us out after we purchased our home and before we could get moved in. She was there with us every step of the way and made moving half way across the globe a much easier experience than I could have imagined.

I have tried three different landlords during my five year stay and they were by far the best. I…read morestaid two years so far and just renewed my lease for my last year. They are very fast to answer to a phone message; the husband comes do maintenance himself - he bought and installed an AC unit for me, for instance. He also cares for the property - when he snows, you see him shoveling the snow in front and around the house, or salting the stairs. When there were storms, I saw him checking the roof and cleaning all debris. The wife is in charge of the financial side of the business, but she also helped me - I got locked out once (which NEVER happened to me before hah) and she came under 10mn to open the door for me. During COVID, we got messages of support and they apparently open for discussion if you had problems paying the rent. They also indicated they could still come for repairs if needed, and that they'd be wearing a mask. They also didn't raise the rent in 2021, probably in connection with COVID. And for Xmas, you get a card and a box of cookies (not primordial, but so nice :) ) Altogether, so far, I have been treated fairly, and I feel like on the rare occasion I got a no from them, it was with good reasons. I haven't dealt with them about the deposit yet - always a problem in America, in my 9 year experience! - but I have friends who rented with them before and they had no problem getting their deposit back.

The building was a…read moredivided house so some of the things in there were kinda shoved in, however I knew what I was getting when I rented and Im sure it can be a little awkward for them trying to divide them up. They were also very responsive with maintenance.. The bad: The second you chose not to resign the lease, you're dealing with different people. The husband was more friendly on the rare occasion we see them, however the wife was rude with us on the few interactions we had after. Per what it feels like most landlords do, they try and take every penny of the deposit possible however this was the worst Ive had in Lafayette. They clearly used deposit money to conduct improvements on the apartment. The apartment was so poorly insulated that both head and air condition were much more expensive than elsewhere. Also if you're looking to live downtown definitely look around more. Theres definitely better by cost apartments in the area.
