Thomas arrived in 7 minutes, assessed the situation and brought in one of his crew to start work. Before they could start, a roomful of personal items needed to be removed from the space that my aunt and I could not have handled on our own. He and his partner helped get that moved out quickly, but sensitively, before ripping out the carpeting and carpet padding, then setting up fans and humidifier. They worked so hard over several hours. Thomas visited everyday to check progress. We felt better for having them doing the work. After completing the necessary drying-out process of the flood--followed by an adversed mold analysis report and the warehousing of all our personal belongings--, our personal claims-adjuster referred us to Mr. Eric Soto of Disaster Pros, Restoration and Construction Services, in order to execute the required demolishing, dismantling and remediation. From the first contact with the owner of Disaster Pros, Mr Soto gave us essentially a master class of what was involved in fully addressing the remediation issues as detailed in the mold analysis report: Four out of six interior areas had tested positive for chaetomium or "black mold" at 95%; 84%; 74% and 46% --versus 36% in the exterior--, when only 0% was acceptable for interior habitation. The kitchen sink was ground zero of the leak, which seeped and permeated through-out floors and walls.  The result was the development of an extensive amount of active black mold spores in walls, floors as well as in the air. It took two concentrated efforts in cleaning to address the problem, the first of which took five days for dismantling cabinets, walls and floors in a radius of 5600 cubic feet.  After a follow-up test, the second effort took an additional 3 days, because black mold spores were still detectable, and further cleaning had to be undertaken to clean and extract the air out of the apartment until it tested zero spores of the black mold: in all interior areas of concern such as rooms as well as closets. Except for a minor incident with the HVAC system, due to an unsupervised blocked ventilation-duct (for which we were properly compensated), the process went relatively seamlessly: taking all in all not even two weeks of labor.  Thanks to the diligence and seriousness of Mr. Soto's staff at Disaster Pros, the end-results were impeccably professional. We concur with our well-listed, independent mold-technician, who complemented Disaster Pros for its superb caliber of execution, and so we strongly recommend Disaster Pros without any reservations."

single mom here! from Miami! and a new (first time) homeowner!…read more I'm SO HAPPY to have found and connected with RELIABLE and TRUSTWORTHY people! having recently discovered that I am super reactive to mold, I decided to have my new home inspected for mold. A fellow Miami mom from a FB group posted about this company and highly recommended them, so I reached out. Edgar responded immediately and scheduled a FREE inspection for the following day. He came over with one of his team members and checked out my home. He gave me some new homeowner tips too which I super appreciate as a new homeowner! Being a remediation company, OTM wasn't able to test for mold in the rooms we suspected could be an issue. So he connected me to another company, MOLD ASSESSMENT SERVICES (check out my review for them too) that helped me out just as good! After results were in that there was in fact mold in these areas, OTM came back and serviced my home - while I was out of town! I have to mention that because the fact that I could trust someone with my new home while I was out of town is a BIG THING!! for me anyway! Not only did we have to remove mold and sanitize the entire home, we also had to replace the drywall and paint the ceiling AND get the air ducts and A/C unit cleaned - so much I know!!! We had…read morepreviously gotten a quote from a different company that was highly rated on Yelp and my husband had almost booked them. It sounded like they were offering a good deal, but they only included one mold sample. When I ran it by my friend she highly recommended that I call Thomas because of his high integrity and honesty. There are apparently a lot of sketchy companies out there that use dishonest tactics to upsell mold remediation, charging little for the initial check and then telling you to fix a lot of unnecessary things. I called Thomas and everything my friend had said was true. He told me I had to fix any leaks before doing the mold check so I wouldn't waste my money. He also gave me a lot of excellent advise. The quote for the initial check was a little more than the other company but it was much more thorough and included numerous samples, as different rooms can have different levels and you really need to test several areas for your safety. When dealing with something as serious as mold you do not want to be cheap, your family's health depends on it. Also, you may get a cheaper rate by someone else but then they get you by telling you that you have to fix a bunch of things, and it ends up being much more expensive. I really wish there were more honest people like Thomas in Miami!
