This FNB used to be a Metro Bank prior to FNB taking it over; I wasn't a Metro customer but I understood their hours were non-traditional and the branches were open more often (7 days a week) and for longer hours. Now that's it's FNB, well, they close at 5pm and the drive-through closes at 6pm.
I visited the other day and withdrew $200 and it all came out in $10s. I had to walk to the drive-thru to exchange the $10s for $20s. Today I visited to withdraw money and the ATM wasn't working at all, fortunately, I got there before 5 so I could go inside and get money.
There were far more staff than customers, however, I stood behind one customer while she was discussing something noisily with the lone teller; the manager was hiding over in his corner, a staff person was busy running from behind the counter to the restroom and then back again, apparently changing from her work clothes to her culinary clothing (culinary school? evening job?). There were other staff walking around, staring into their computers, whatever. More customers started to come in and all of sudden 2 more tellers appeared.
I wanted to withdraw a couple hundred dollars; I have no idea what took so long but the teller was staring at her computer screen for several minutes, then she disappeared into a back room, came back, stared in her computer some more and then started getting money together. She began to place it into an envelope before I asked her to count it out for me. Since when do tellers not count out money to customers?
I've spoken to the manager of this branch, Mike, several times and he seems completely ineffective instead telling me repeatedly that he'd have his head teller, Kelly, get back to me. In a week and a half, despite speaking to Mike 3 times, he couldn't answer my question and Kelly never did call me back.
FNB bought my old bank, Parkvale, that I belonged to for years. I miss Parkvale and I suspect that Metro customers will miss their old bank, too. There is nothing about FNB that I like. Even if FNB is a terrible place to work, can't the people working there at least smile, say thank you, count money or return phone calls? Banking is a customer service industry: there are lots of banks and I think most folks would do well to look elsewhere. read more
