I am on an accountant for a non-for profit that changed banks. The account for Midland was supposed…read moreto be closed but somehow wasn't (not their fault), so I went into the Belvidere branch and spoke with a nice lady who said she would make sure the account was closed and she would take care of the $3 overdraft fee. She even took the paperwork I had with me and reassured me it would be taken care of. I asked if I needed to pay the fee and she reassured me she would handle it. Now a week later I am getting notified that the account is still open and the overdraft fee has went up to $39. I tried calling their call center and they were no help. They kept asking for my personal information over and over again, which after being asked the third time I was just done. Would not recommend a bank that does not follow through and is no help with their call centers. I guess now on my time off I will need to again drive the 30 minutes to the bank to try and get this taken care of again.

I was very pleased with the outcome and opportunity to save some money. Their website however, is not user friendly and could use improvements. Jonathon Lewis had helped me with refinancing before and he patiently listened, answered my questions, & provided guidance on all the steps I needed to follow to get a pre-approval. This, coupled with answering my barrage of questions, was VERY helpful over several weeks. He really helped me out with understanding the values of what I was shopping for. They asked me why, I said, "I highly recommend the personalized service they offer."
