I then drive forty minutes, walk in and ask for him. Here is exactly how the conversation went: "Hey, is Troy in?" "Nope" "I just called and they said he was in at 1030. It's 11:15" "Nah, haven't seen him" (five seconds of silence) At this point, I'm already annoyed. No "He's not in but what can I help you with" or "Let me see if someone else can help you out." Just staring at me like I'm retarded in silence. "Okay.....can you tell me when he's in?" (Five seconds of silence) "Yeah" A minute later I get "Yeah he's not in today." Cool, man. That's not what I asked. I asked when he's in and didn't get an answer. That doesn't help me at all. He then says he can grab a guy named Mark to help me but he's in a meeting. I eat next door to kill time and come out and ask for him. "Yeah, he was just down here. Let me grab him." Cut to 45 minutes later I'm standing there wondering if they forgot about me or if Mark is even a real person. A few people asked me if I needed help and I told them I was waiting for Mark and they went on their way. I briefly talked to the same kid who stared at me like I was an idiot about my plans to trade-in my gun for an SBR. He was clicking around on the computer for a few minutes. I went to the bathroom and walked back over towards the computer and he walked past me without saying anything. That's the last interaction I had. I stood around doomscrolling for what felt like an eternity before I finally left and decided I won't be returning here. I wanted to do a simple trade-in and buy another rifle. This should take like 30 minutes tops. There were zero customers there. 90 minutes later they've lost my business for good. Edit: the owner replied saying "This isn't how we treat our customers!" but the reviews say otherwise. Looks like I'm not the first to be ghosted by staff.

But they have those too if you're looking around this time of the political year I suppose. It was hopping inside! Stewart's has been around for around ten yrs (give or take what I can remember them telling me between the other pawn shop and theirs) and they were very respectful to all of their customers. I literally had NO IDEA what the word pawn even meant before going and just intended to barter/sell in order to get what I was looking for- and that I did! Even though they were very busy they gave each customer their full attention, as did the friendly security guard at the front of the store. They have their own lot to park as well. I haggled a bit and feel that I got what I wanted on the low-end of my price range and the medium end of my sell range (nothing overly spectacular) but fair. What more could you ask for really? They had a great deal of inventory to choose from as well and I found myself pretty happy with the selection- maybe a little bit more in white-gold items, but eh, it's what you make of it. I will keep them in mind for the future if I happen to find myself in need of the pawning services, but hopefully not. Oh! And they cash checks too. That was one reason they were so busy on a Friday. The first time I had a small Case XX knife engraved for by daughter for a Christmas gift. The engraving was great on this item and I was impressed since the space was so small. The most recent item is a project that I have been working. I went to Kyle with the idea and he took some notes. He called be a few days later with options. Ultimately, the way I had it the spacing would not uniformed since I did everything freehanded. This would also cause the cost to go up a lot since it would take a lot of setup time. I ended up going with his recommendation. It turned out great and I am very pleased with it. MADD Engraving also engraves glass and the continue to invest in other engraving options. MADD Engraving is part of MADD Engineering. I am so happy to have such an awesome business down the street from me.
