I've been in Quest probably a dozen times to look around but I've never spent any money there until…read morerecently. I'm currently preparing for a trip in late August so new hiking shoes and some specific pants were needed. I checked online and found the shoes I needed. I also knew they had a variety of pants to choose from so I figured I'd just browse while there. Since I need to try on at least one of those things, I decided to take a quest to Quest after work. As soon as I arrived at the shoe section, one of the workers asked me if I was looking for anything... I told her the name of the shoe and if they had a certain size. Boom! Got them. Tried them on. Done. It was the same with the pants. I've been updating a portion of my gear for this trip but I went ahead and decided to browse the store. While browsing the rest of the store, every section had an employee that asked if I was looking for anything. Super nice staff! I love that this store has a downstairs, upstairs, and middle floor. I do wish it was labeled a bit better. There are obvious sections but then there are other things just hanging out. It kind of encourages you to browse the store every time if you're looking for something specific. I guess that goes with the name... Quest. I'm only subtracting one star because of the prices. Some things I've found are cheaper in store than online while other things are more expensive than online. For that reason, Quest isn't the first thing that pops into my mind when I need new gear. Ultimately, I'm glad we have a shop like this in Louisville. It's handy to have if you need something specific for a trip and can't find the perfect item online.

They clearly were not. We had 4 pair of shoes that would have totaled close to $400, along with several name brand clothing items. He would not make eye contact with me and was extremely poor in his overall presentation--his statement when walking away was "I don't know what to tell you". The poor cashier looked shocked and apologized over and over, saying "I'm so sorry, he's the main manager and there's no one else above him or I would call someone else". Further review of my answering machine verified no call from Academy Sports ever took place. Therefore I had to place my order through Amazon. Academy Sports has the absolute worst customer service.
