I myself do not overdraw my accounts and have found Umpqua to be BY FAR the best bank in Ashland and an excellent regional bank overall. Never a fee. I…read morehave been a loyal customer for over 25 years and done my best to roll with the name changes and inconvenience every time they merged with another bank. I had a friend who worked there and the atmosphere and service was excellent. After the last acquisition however, everything has gone downhill in terms of service. My latest disappointment was having my debit card denied and subsequently destroyed at the bank because of a suspected fraudulent transaction. It was destroyed at the bank on 12/27/23 and I was told I'd have a new card in 7-10 days. The card has not arrived and after being on hold for over 20 minutes, I learned that the new card was not even ordered until 1/9/24. So - customer service sucks whether you are in the bank face-to-face with a teller who is supposedly ordering a new debit card or waiting to speak to a human on the phone. I am looking into a new bank, as Umqua bank service reps are friendly, overworked, and constantly having to apologize for really poor service.
