Mise en Place is operated by the students in the Chef Training program. Went the first time this school year and it exceeded my expectations. Last year had some bad service and not so great food. Decided to try again with a new student year. Sure glad I did! Ordered the salmon meal, $11. Includes a homemade roll, fresh vegetable, rice (I got double veg instead), iced tea, and a chocolate torte for dessert. Salmon had a maple whiskey sauce and it was grilled on a cedar plank - perfectly done.. I could eat it every day, enjoyed it that much. The massive Corned beef Reuben sandwich $8 was made with house cooked corned beef that was not fatty at all. They use a swirl rye bread and don't skimp on kraut or cheese. It came with a huge 1/2 dill pickle and potato salad. Also ordered the white truffle mac n cheese $11 topped with roasted winter vegetables which came with a roll, drink and dessert. Desserts are always a stand out here. Today was an apple struesel ala mode and a rich chocolate raspberry torte. Always save room for dessert - don't miss them! Weekly menu includes soups, sandwiches, salads, entrees and fantastic desserts. Chef O, the instructor for the program, previously worked at the Pomeroy House and you will see some of their recipes included in the menu rotation. For instance, the Pomeroy Salad is a staple. So coming here is a no brainer - get a gourmet meal at a Denny's price :) Notes: The restaurant is operated and staffed with students. Sometimes it can be a bit of a wait to get your meal. Plan accordingly, don't go if you are in a rush. Only open for lunch during the school year. Sometimes it is tough to get a table. Calling ahead for reservation is strongly suggested.. Legitimately the roughest…read moretwo years of my school life I have ever endured, I have never lost more sleep at than I did during my two years at this school. I was in the Media lab and all I did was put png's on blank documents and they gave us points for it. We were promised to fly drones and take many amazing pictures with the camera feature, yet we only did drones once and it was only a flight test. The teacher was not great for the media lab at all, I have no doubt that she meant well but she was so difficult to work with, I can recall to many times where I would have spent thirty minutes on a document that I was super proud of only to be told by the teacher to start from scratch. The food was also very healthy-ish, more often than not we would be served "beef" burgers, but just by taste alone you can definitely tell they are turkey burgers, sometimes the food was not cooked fully then they would use the excuse that everything is prepackaged and fully cooked already. The rules are okay and understandable, very easy to understand and follow. Me personally I think they should let up and be more loose on them. They're pretty adamant on keeping ID's on, even to the point they're willing to give out in school detention for not having it on. In my opinion that is ludicrous. It just is a ID, it really isn't that serious. I get that they want students to get ready and be prepared for the work place but not all workplaces I believe are required to wear their ID's at all times. Heck during my time there I never wore my ID once, according to one of the lovely teachers there if they see a lanyard they just automatically think they have an ID on. Everything else though was okay the staff was quite nice and awesome and respectful, the students kept to themselves and were quiet so that was a plus. Overall if you're looking for advice on sending your child here, I would. This school gives great opportunities for your child and not only that, if they do well enough they will get recommended a college with a personal note from pioneer themselves praising how well your child did during their time there. Administrators and staff are very rude and do not care about you or your learning. Your business will be spread through staff and admin and even classmates! They play favoritism as well. This school is not set up for you so succeed as a lot of it is self taught and for the amount that you pay the quality of the labs and sims are TERRIBLE. They reuse supplies and often times make you "pretend" instead of opening supplies. They also take expired supplies from the hospitals which they should be able to afford without taking donations. The financial aid office is running a money laundering scheme so make sure you TRIPLE check all of your financial aid documents. Don't have an opinion different than theirs or stand up for yourself because you'll be labeled as combative and unprofessional. They also will give you the worst & cheapest pinning ever which is supposed to be one of the best moments of your life. Overall the cons outweigh the pros and it is not worth it! They are also not accredited by the CCNE. Go get your education elsewhere!!!!!!!

Each class you will do a variety of blood draws, finger sticks, and injections, not on an orange or rubber arm.. nope on each other or the instructors (fully under their supervision at all times!!). You will be confident walking out of there that you can properly locate and draw blood the proper way without hurting anyone or digging for the vein (we've all had those). David instructs in detail the fundamentals of a medical office, client care, the process of lab blood work, the tubes, HIPAA,CPR,EKG,.. and so much more. I never thought at my age of late 30s I could wrap my head around new material or even pronunciation of medical words. David really helps break those barriers down, he has many concepts of ways to help you remember things like how the blood flows through the heart, veins, what their functions are and why, lab concepts of procedures and additives for each tube. I looked at many options when I knew, as an Esthetician, I wanted to cross over to the medical side. I'm so glad I made the drive to this establishment, I live in Cincy so every weekend I drove 1.5 hrs both ways, some times I stayed sometimes I drove back, so dedication is an understatement. It was my home for 10 weeks on Sat/Sun. I made the drive because I wanted hands on and let's be honest Quick turn around so I could move forward... I did not want to spend 6mths at a career center college, work full time and try to do all they need for the same certificate. Best money spent!
