This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. I don't even know where to begin.
Staff: unwelcoming and awkward. One of the male concierges at the front was cold and looked almost paranoid- continuously checking the cameras as he talked to us upon check in.
Rooms: do not get the suites! My parents stayed in the "excecutive suite," (room 701) and I stayed in a basic harbor view room (room 428). My basic, cheaper room was nicer than the "executive suite." Their suite was run down, shabby, dirty, and nearly unfurnished. It looked like college students on a tight budget had tried to make it look nice. Bare walls, two stained chairs and one stained sofa, a table and chairs, a strange chandelier, that was it. No personality, just cold and unwelcoming.
The nespresso coffee pods in their room were already USED! There was also no air conditioning and it was uncomfortably hot and stuffy. They did provide fans, however.
If you want a better experience, don't get the suites. They put me on the other end of the hotel away from my parents which required me to take two elevators just to visit them. The hallway and elevator to my room was disgusting. Torn and stained carpet, scuffed walls, smelled musty, crack house-like lighting. The elevator would slam shut aggressively. It once started moving without closing the door.
The shower door was cheap and looked like the shower wasn't even meant to be there in the first place. The shower head was tucked into the slanting corner, so anyone taller than me would have not been able to use it. The soap dispenser was broken and the face came off as I used it. Bed was uncomfortable and they gave you four pillows: two unnaturally large (I mean, HUGE) pillows, and two extremely small pillows.
If you get put in a room near the front and you are handicapped, you won't be able to get to the elevator, because of a flight of stairs that lead to it.
Security: NO safe and NO deadbolt? No water provided in the room either.
Breakfast: cold and just average food. The plates were dirty and there was no seating. People were impatient to try and get to the limited buffet and there was a frantic atomosphere to the dining area. They advertised a restaurant but it was "closed" the entire time.
Location: great location! That's pretty much the only positive to this hotel. Very close to downtown and the fish market.
Will we stay here again? Absolutely not. read more
