While my parents introduced me to a family friend who was a real estate agent, I had no idea how to go about finding a loan officer! After digging through Yelp/Google, I stumbled upon Meridox Mortgage that had stellar reviews and took a chance. I called Meridox and was put in touch with Trung Tran. I let him know that I didn't have any knowledge of how the house-buying process works, but he was incredibly supportive and assured me he would walk me through every step. In our initial call with him, we had a variety of questions, and he had clear and thorough answers to all of them, ranging from advice on lenders, the current state of the market, which areas seemed to fit our preferences, what our timelines would look like, and how we would be working together. By the end of the call, we knew that we had found a good fit. This was a remote search, as we were not actively living in the area where we were looking to buy. Normally, this can introduce some challenges, but Mike and his team were comfortable with it, having worked with many buyers and sellers throughout the COVID era. They made it clear that they recommended visiting homes in person, which we were on board with, but that also was a good sign that they cared about us and wanted to make sure that at the end of the day, we wouldn't be surprised by anything about the home.
