Angela Epp while remaining professional on the surface was often condescending and backhanded. Comments like "In my eight years of experience I have never heard of it working that way". She was able to get a low rate for myself after a hellishly long process that would have been easier handled directly at the bank. I had specifically asked for a mortgage that included a small renovation budget to which I was told we could do provided I received quotes for the work that was done. The mortgage was approved and the possession date was coming closer and I called to inquire about the process to receiving the money for the renovations. "Do I need to have the quotes for the reno's at closing" "Do I have to buy the products and submit the receipts". I was informed/blindsided that the mortgage was only for the price of property and did not include any of the renovation costs. Instead of an apology for the miss communications I was blamed and told in different words that I never submitted quotes so my request was ignored. Now as a first time home buyer I am left responsible for the down payment, closing costs and renovations with less than a week to prepare. This process was made stressful by the broker and real estate agent I chose and I would not want others to experience the same issues I have dealt with. I do take responsibility for choosing the team I did and signing the mortgage papers that were improper (Even though I mentioned the renovations built into the price at the bank and no one batted an eye). Do yourself a favor and go to your bank, they will get you the same rate and cut out the broker/headache.
