After a couple of attempts by other handymen to fix a leak behind our bathtub/shower taps, we decided that price was no object - we just wanted it done right. Very pleased with the quality of the work, leak has finally been fixed! Craftsman Jurie Botha worked quickly and efficiently, with the least amount of disruption to our household as possible (a very tricky affair with only one bathroom!) He was very friendly, professional, and helpful, and had great suggestions for the renovations that he needed to do as part of the repairs (previous renovations had been damaged by the leak.) Overall we highly recommend his services. Although Handyman Connection's rates are rather high, it was very much worth it to have a long-standing problem finally fixed!

CON ARTISTS "Paul…read moreDavis was brought in to help us out in a time of need and ironically ended up being the most stressful and by far the most costly part of the Fort McMurray wildfire." I only wish it was possible to give 0 stars. After the Fort McMurray wildfire we were in the process of moving to Edmonton, we already had a 2 year old and my wife was 8 months pregnant with our second. Our house was ok but with the soon to be 2 little ones we were worried about smoke damage to our belongings. Our adjuster brought these cleaning "professionals" (and I use that term VERY loosely here) in to clean all of our possessions. I was down in Edmonton at the time of the cleaning and so was not there to actually see any of what took place. Whatever items weren't able to be cleaned in place (which consisted of almost all of our soft items; clothes, linens, carpets, shoes etc) were brought to their facility in Red Deer to be cleaned there. Upon opening the boxes of the items that had been "cleaned" in place my wife began to wipe down some of these and the cloths were coming up black. We waited somewhere around 6 weeks to receive the rest of our items which was somewhat understandable given the volume of work I'm sure they had at that time but was still incredibly inconvenient as we had to go out and buy a lot of these items that we needed in the meantime like sheets and pillows. As we began to unbox everything we noticed a lot of problems. White items were no longer white, some items were badly deformed, other items had stains on them, one pair of shoes had a hole punched in them, a sheet wouldn't even open up and had something in it that can only be likened to a large wad of sticky chewed gum in the middle, and almost anything that could shrink had. I was furious. We also realized that a large number of items were missing and had not been told anything about that whatsoever. Upon contacting them they told us that over 100 items were not returned because either they could not get the smoke odor out (only a small percentage of the items withheld) or they were damaged in the cleaning process. We told them about all of the items we had received that were also damaged and they sent someone to document and collect all of these items as well, with the total number of damaged items now being close to 200. Paul Davis then conducted an investigation on themselves and deemed themselves responsible for only 7 of the almost 200 damaged items citing reasons such as "cleaning instruction tag removed prior to us removing from your home". To me a company that specializes in cleaning items essentially telling me that if there's no tag telling them how to wash it they don't know how to is absolutely unacceptable. They weren't even apologetic. I was then informed by my adjuster that if Paul Davis was paid what they were trying to charge there wouldn't be any money left in my claim to cover any of the now damaged items. I was livid and my adjuster (claims pro) was not being any help either. Finally after posting on AMA's Facebook page to get someone's attention I was contacted by AMA directly and they began their own investigation. There was approximately $9000 worth of items damaged. After 6+ months, dozens of emails between several parties and hours and hours of cataloging, photographing and pricing items out AMA finally agreed to pay me out. HOWEVER, as per policy I only received 50% of what the clothes were valued at and Paul Davis stuck to their 7 items and only paid $500. So I ended up being out $4000, and many of the damaged items are irreplaceable and of sentimental value to us. To my knowledge, Paul Davis received full payment for destroying our things. I don't know any other circumstance where a company can come in and cause that much damage and still get paid in full. They have found a loophole and are definitely exploiting it. I was told by AMA that we were not the only ones in this kind of situation. Being a young family, who had just gone through the fire and were in the process of moving while my wife was 8 months pregnant, this was a huge blow to us financially and a very very stressful experience to got through. Paul Davis was brought in to help us out in a time of need and ironically ended up being the most stressful and by far the most costly part of the whole fire. They were unprofessional, unapologetic and took absolutely no responsibility for their actions, and no disclosure of any kind was given beforehand to let us know they might cause thousands of dollars in damage and if they do their not liable. All I was told by my adjuster when I expressed some concerns about them coming in to clean was that "they are professionals, this is what they do and to let them do their job". None of that could have been farther from the truth. PLEASE if you're considering utilizing this company STAY AWAY. They are a NIGHTMARE.

Our Real Estate Agent was Richard Pochylko. We found him professional as well as fully accessible…read moreand humorous. We appreciated how he appraised our home in a factual way, educating us with current comparables, and explaining how he came to recommend a realistic selling price. He also had a number of services, which we used. He paid for a Home Stager, who walked through our home and gave numerous suggestions to make our home feel more spacious, something that is very difficult for a home owner to do themselves, as they do not see their living space any other way other than how they have been using it. The Home Stager even came back for a second visit, so double check areas. When it was suggested to paint an area, Richard recommended a fabulous Painter who was a perfectionist & therefore did a fabulous job. We borrowed a moving trailer from Richard, which helped to lower expenses, as we did not need to rent one ourselves. Richard was accessible via cell phone constantly. Usually we reached him immediately, but if we did need to leave a message, he returned our phone calls quickly, within the hour. He stuck up for us, helping us avoid a situation before it became difficult and uncomfortable. The only reason Richard does not receive 5 stars is because he was away when our deal was signed, so he was not present to advise. However, he so deserved a few days away, as we saw he works hard for his clients. He did leave a colleague of his to work with us during his absence. Do not be fooled by some Real Estate Agents who try to entice you to sign on as clients, and then have to lower your price as your home does not sell at the initial high price. Also, in this day, every Real Estate Agent should have extras to offer their clients, such as a Home Stager, etc. Great job Richard. We would recommend you to anyone looking for a Real Estate Agent.
