I instigated First Driveways Ltd to do just under 500SqM of patterned concrete. I used First Driveways Ltd from Abingdon, met Michael all seemed ok, he quoted me and I was happy with it. However, on that first meeting, he asked for pre-payment which I duly obliged as we signed a contract with clear payment dates. His team came, however they would turn up at 11am and leave by 3pm, they ripped up most of the previous drive and laid down some hardcore, but nowhere near enough. My driveway was left for over 12 months, when they failed to come back to complete, they laid around 25 SqM, whereby it was so poor, they had to take half of it again as it dipped by 1 inch. He took further payments from me, however the work never amounted to payments. He never came back to finish my driveway, had lots of excuses about vans breaking down, or not having the people. Michael took 12k from me and only laid 15 Sqm of patterned concrete & did some hardcore work. He did say that he would pay me back, but 2 years gone, not a penny! read more
