Especially because every time I went inside the bank, the tellers were never particularly helpful or dedicated. They deposited my check into the wrong account (someone with a similar name - they never asked to see my id or made sure it was me) then they told me that there was no way I could ever get my money back unless I could prove I was not this other person (we sharre the same name, so how could I prove this?). They were exceptionally rude about it. I got the feeling they were giving me the run around because I was just a college kid (kind of ridiculous since this is a college town). Eventually it worked out, but if you are going to be a customer I would seriously consider using the ATM's only (never go to a teller! never!!)

Customer service line has greater than 30 min wait, zero consistently with answers. They referred us to the local branch where the branch manager displayed horrifying customer service skills. Eli could just answer one single question I had. Every answer was "I'm sorry I don't know". Citizens Bank in desperate need of Customer Service 101 classes. The appropriate answer at anytime would have been "I am so sorry, I don't have the answer but if you give me a few moments I'll find someone who can provide the answer". I could give Example after example from just one days' interactions , but I digress. I spoke with one person out of the 9 I dealt with in 24 hours who was deserving of the position she holds. And I'm sure she's the lowest paid. Just unbelievably horrific experience all-around. Shame on you citizens bank for tolerating this behavior.

SANTANDER bought out Sovereign. They are located right next to Cafe 210 West on College Ave. They…read morehave the most friendly, helpful employees I've ever seen..anywhere...not just in banking. They gave me their business cards (two working most days) and said if I needed anything, to call. Directions if I was lost...dinner suggestions, anything. They were funny and knowledgeable and because this branch is pretty slow, they really went out of their way to help, plus I didn't have to wait to get my account going. Since then, I have never had an issue with Santander. Just wish they were open till 5. They close at 4, except on Fridays they close at 5.

I opened a business debit account at Arize. I called the branch in advance, knowing that opening…read morethe account would take time and I would most likely need an appointment. So I made one for a few days later. When I walked into the branch, they said they had no idea what I was talking about and they had no record of me making the appt. So, I had to wait about 30 minutes for them to be able to assist me. Ok. Not a big deal. I get in the office and start the process. First, the woman tried telling me I couldn't use the paper that the IRS provided me because "this isn't what they usually look like". Ok. Well I have nothing else to show you because this is what the IRS furnished for my business. So she gets approval from her manager to "accept it this time". She comes back and we continue. She then tells me that I can't open the account because I don't have an operating agreement. I have never needed an operating agreement between myself and a company that I am the sole ownership of before, but I was able to create one on the spot. So, we finally get the account open. They say I will receive my debit card in the mail soon. 3 weeks goes by without a card. I call and they say it got lost in the mail. Then we discover that they didn't put the suite number on my account address, so I had to submit an address change request. Ok. Get that done. Request a second card. It arrives about a week later and it doesn't have my last name on it. So I call again. They say "oh, we don't know how that happened. Let me get another one issued". I received the THIRD card in the mail and, lo and behold, it is correct. I go to activate it and it says "you've exceeded the maximum number of attempts to activate this card". Interesting. I haven't activated the card yet. So I call the number on the back and the guy says "try calling the number on the back of the card". I explain that I did and that's how I got in touch with him. He says "oh. I'm going to have to submit this for an escalation and a call back". 3 days later, I still don't receive a call. I call again. They tell me the same thing. I am awaiting the call back. I opened the account 65 DAYS ago, and I still do not have a functioning debit card. To say this has been the absolute WORST banking experience I've ever had would be an understatement. I would not ever recommend this credit union to anyone.

I tried to make a deposit today with cash back in the lobby. I did t realize I had to give my name and phone number to do so. I assume it's a contact tracing thing. For a simple deposit. I had a mask and all. The problem was with the terrible attitude when I didn't immediately vomit all my info, which they already have with all my banking info. I just used the ATM. This particular branch used to be fun to visit. Nice ppl and atmosphere. I'll pick another in the future.

I sent this bank a message, asking some questions about opening an account. I have yet to hear…read moreback and this was over two weeks ago. Why would anyone do business with a company that doesn't respond to your inquiries? Mine was a very generic question but it tells me a lot about being a customer. If this was a much more important question, would they have responded? To me, they have failed what was the easiest way to get me as a customer. I would recommend just about any other bank.
