I actually found the first review about a week after my dog came home with the explosive diarrhea.(notice dates/Anna). My dog had been at this kennel several times within the last year; and another kennel in another city. She was never "stressed" before, not in ten years. What or who could stress a dog, who is in a familiar place, so much-- so suddenly?
A friend's dog had "explosive diarrhea" one week earlier than mine after his kennel visit here. I called the kennel because I wanted them to know about both dogs, and also, they had forgotten to give her a bath. The smell was so bad that it was difficult to drive home with the stench. I gave her a bath @ 9:30pm. My LITTLE dog had to have had the explosive diarrhea while at the kennel. She certainly had it for several days after returning home. The owner was very nice when she called me and explained the "stress" factor. Knowing that another dog had also been there numerous times and was sick the week prior still makes me suspicious. Who, or what, was "stressing out" these dogs?
Before I read the Yelp review, I brought my dog back to the kennel to be groomed because I couldn't get the smell out of her hair, and I had prepaid anyway. When I brought her in I spoke with the groomer, who had groomed her very nicely several other times. They insisted that I take my money back because it was their fault they hadn't put her on the schedule (true). When I picked my dog up two hours later I could see the cut was not right, but I tipped the groomer anyway--before I saw that she had been shaved. NOW she IS stressed! I guess they taught me a lesson, and my little dog, (Toto) too!
I'm giving two stars because at least half the time we had used this kennel our experience was fine. A bad time was when her eye was oozing with pus, and apparently it just suddenly happened. read more
