At the end of my last indoor season I decided to reward myself after our league meet with a massage at Greek Isles. I kid you not, it REJUVENATED my broken body. I think the service runs about $70 for an hour of deep tissue massage, which is definitely not cheap, but it's a great way to treat yo'self. Michelle is super-professional and absolutely knows what she's doing. During the massage, ambient piano music plays, and the walls are covered in tulle and twinkly lights, so the room is dimly lit and relaxing as soon as you walk in. Just being in that vicinity made me feel more serene. Beyond the life-changing massage, the rest of the Greek Isles ~experience~ isn't half bad. The salon is adorable, the receptionists are friendly, and they offer tons of different services. It can be kind of difficult to get ahold of them, but once you do, it's super-easy to book an appointment.

I have been shaving my head since 2005 and this was only the second time I have been in the barber's chair since that time. The site said, by appointment only, so I swung by to see when I could get my spot at the shop. They let me know they were not very busy that day and if I waited for the current customer and another they could get me in. I sat down, grabbed a magazine, pet a cat or two that wandered by me and waited. Within 30 minutes my mohawked head was getting the royal treatment and I am very happy with the results. Granted I wanted a straight edge shave but no such luck. However, this is the old school barber I grew up with and if you are in the area and needing a trim it is well worth it.
