If I could give no stars I would. Rude! The old lady that was in there was a B****. We needed a wheelchair and we were told from both the doctors and from her that our insurance pays 100 percent of the chair and showed us which one they cover. It took forever to wait on the paperwork. When I ask about it, she said the people behind the wall were filing the insurance claim and for me to be patient. She had already jumped on me one time because she was frustrated because she could not find out about a part for the chair and told me to go stand on the other side of the room. This was in the main room where all the clients come in. No one else was in there at the time. She had the worse attitude and clearly should not be Working with the public. Let alone people that are in need of health related items and are already dealing with bad situations. We found out that they did not even file the health insurance claim for this chair. Now they are billing us for the chair 100%. And they are billing us for a much larger amount than what she quoted the chair for! We have tried numerous times to call them and get in touch with them and they will not answer the phone. Nor will they return a phone call. This is been going on for several months. I would never use this company again! Please, do not use this company. Sounds like all the other reviews had the same experience. The prices are affordable. However, The equipment was not working once I returned to my residence. They refused to drive to my residence to replace the equipment. I had to haul the heavy equipment to my work and exchange it there. Meanwhile my sister was without mobility for the day and could not attend her appointments. Then they flat out refused to refund the money on the two days that the equipment could not be used. They said it was already cheap enough and that I should be happy. This depiction is absolutely accurate. I was shocked to be treated like this from a company that serves the disabled and their families who struggle to care for them. Very rude when I went in there for help. My brother was dying of lung cancer and I was looking for oxygen parts. The girl at the front desk acted like I was crazy. She said, we have nothing to do with oxygen. I asked if she knew where I could get what I need for his machine. She was very annoyed and rolled her eyes. I am new to the South Charlotte area and a friend told me about this place. I went in last Tuesday morning to get a pair of compression socks, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. They had a bunch of different socks and the ones I got have really improved bloodflow. I will definitely go back to First choice in the future if I have any other medical supply needs. I didn't have anything delivered like Scot R. in his review, but the service was good enough to find me the right sock. They did say the store was under new ownership and I'd expect customer service has improved since then. The in-store service was very helpful. read more

"Well, Bless Your Heart" was the attitude afterwards. We purchased a good product: Goldentech medical / home health chair, MaxiComfort series, Cloud modelPR510-SME. The sale price, clearly marked on the product on the sale's floor was $1,450.00. The chair was delivered and simply left in the driveway. The deliverymen refused to bring it into the house, despite being offered two options: the front door or rear door. Delivery was included in the price --- who knew that it was delivery to the driveway! My wife and I carried the chair into the house. When the deliverymen fled I got the chance to look at the receipt. Imagine my shock when the price charged WAS NOT THE $1,450.00 ADVERTISED ON THE PRICE TAG, BUT $200.00 MORE --- FIRST CHOICE MEDICAL IMPROPERLY CHARGED $1,650.00! My initial thought was that this was a mistake and so I called the salesperson. Mistakes happen. But not here! After being told that she had incorrectly charged our account in the amount of $200.00, the person actually said: "Oh, I don't know how that sticker got on that chair! You got a deal, 'cus that chair goes for $1,750.00 and I took $100.00 off!" Really? I'm caring for my terminally-ill, terribly sick father-in-law and you're going to heap this load of unnecessary grief upon me? Shame on you!
