Hey Noelle,
My name is Andy, I'm one of the pastors at FBCC and I'm so sorry that you had a disappointing time the three times you visited the church. But I would love to assure you that we do love the Lord Jesus, seek to honor and glorify Him in all we do and long for our people to grow to know Him and love and serve Him more.
I can't really speak to your first two experiences since I only came to the church in 2009, though I know we do occasionally use clips from movies and TV if we feel it will help people connect with the biblical teaching for thay Sunday.
With regards to the service on 9/27 we were doing a special service where we spent time talking about the seven different focal points of our church as a means of casting the vision. We had our youth join us for the service and some of their musicians join the band too. If it was too loud, I do apologize - we aim to try and make our singing approachable for as many people as possible, but I know we don't always hit the mark.
If you would like to get together and talk about the church to hear more of our heart, I'd love to grab a coffee or something like that. Not that I'd try and convince you to join us, but just so that you don't think we are a group who are trying to turn people away from Christ - He is the only hope of the world. I recognize that our church isn't for everyone, but I'd love you to hear our heart.
As a brother in Christ, I would encourage you find a church where you feel comfortable and at home and one that you attend regularly and be involved. That way, if you have a day where you are feeling down, you already have a church family who can gather around you and support you - we all need that from time to time. I was truly saddened when I heard you left our church in tears, I hope you never have to experience that again.
Anyway, if you want to get in touch, you can message me on Yelp or call the church and they'll put you in touch with me. read more
