First Baptist has been my church since 2001. I was widowed at the time and felt welcome and loved from the first time I attended. It is where I met and married my second husband. It is where most of my close friends attend. It is where we have a quilting group "Quilters With a Mission" which I go to every Thursday to make baby quilts for our local pregnancy centers and where we have an awesome Quilt and Craft Show every November. I have been there so long that I've seen a couple of Pastors and several Music Pastors come and go and seen our Children's and Youth Departments grow from minuscule to a whole lot of kids. We present a Christmas Musical : "A Very Merry Christmas", including refreshments for the entire community and a wonderful Easter program. There are numerous ongoing programs for the young people and an outstanding Youth Music Group which has performed at Disneyland. There are dedicated child care workers to lovingly care for your little ones. Currently we offer two Sunday morning services and numerous weekday programs; something for everyone to help you grow in your Christian walk. recently our pastor retired after 15 years and we miss him but are trusting God to send us someone special. My husband and I have been members of First Baptist Church for several years. This is a very friendly church in Grass Valley, CA. They offer a variety of ministries for every age group. We attend the 9:00am worship service and one of the Adult Sunday School classes at 11:00am. You are welcome to have coffee, snacks and visit folks between services in the Upper Fellowship hall. My husband attends a monthly FBC Men's Prayer breakfast in the lower fellowship room. We have been Small Group leaders over the years. I currently host a weekly Women's Bible study and potluck lunch in my home. We both attend an exciting weekly evening mixed small group study at FBC. Our passion is to study God's Word and grow spiritually. The FBC Women's Ministries is hosting a "Titus 2" luncheon in May. I LOVE this church! I have been in church all of my life and my husband and I have been married for 51 years, THIS is the most loving church we've ever been in. We tried one service and were sold! People are SO friendly! This is truly what a church family should be. The worship is awesome, heartfelt and led beautifully, full of the love of God. The sermons are relevant and meaningful! There are many programs that you can become involved in. Children and youth are both vibrant programs. Our young people are truly loved. There are small groups for anyone who wants to dig a little deeper and we encourage you to be involved, That is where relationships begin. When you become involved in a smaller group and spend time with people deeply engrossed in Word you can not help but build deep meaningful relationships! From the minute I first walked in I felt welcomed! The people are friendly and helpful. After attending 3 years so far, I have made many lasting friendships. Pastor Mark Rindels has great Bible-centered sermons, handled the Covid years with care and compassion and makes all who enter the doors feel important. The Sunday school is awesome and enjoyed by my grandkids. The music director Pastor Mark Nunn does a great Christmas Show every year that is spectacular! The Sunday morning worship is amazing. The Youth director entertains, engages and teaches Bible truths to a huge group of kids. First Baptist Church on Ridge has something special for every age to grow in Christ and built community! First Baptist feels like home and is Pro Community. There are people from all different places and all different backgrounds who have come together with one goal to worship the creator. One thing I appreciate about FBC is the desire to create a place of worship for a wide spectrum of ages and styles. The 9am has hymns and traditional songs, where the 11am has Hillsong, Elevation and other contemporary worships music. Their mid week programing is also phenomenal. The youth group is fantastic, the midweek dinner is awesome and delicious and the kids programing is great. I also love the many productions and events they put on for the community. The messages from the Pastor are always relevant to people's needs in today's world, and are always spot-on Biblically! The Worship Pastor and Team of musicians and singers are the BEST--I love the Contemporary Service at 11 where you can REALLY feel the Spirit of God as you worship. This church does so much for the community, including service projects, Youth Activities, SportsCamp and Fine Arts Camp, plus amazing Drama/Musicals during Christmas, Easter and other holidays. My family and I have been part of this church for 9+ years when we're in town (we live and work in the Bay Area). The Word of God is preached, the music leads you into God's presence, the people are friendly and welcoming, and some of our dearest friends are there, too, which is how we found out about First Baptist. During this shelter-at-home season we've been part of FBC each Sunday via Facebook Live, and my soul is recharged through the worship and teaching. I've been going to this church ever since childhood! It has a 9 am service for people who want the hymns and teenagers to interact in youth group. I do not live in the area, but visit frequently throughout the year. When I do, this body of believers are one of my favorite group of people to gather with.
