This morning it would have been easier to sit in the hotel and listen to second baptist Houston on the radio for my Sunday morning worship experience. But I made the mistake of telling my daughter I thought I might go to church. I was obligated. Thank God.
The first church I passed looked as if they weren't awake yet. I was hesitant about First Baptist since "first baptists" often have an air about them, often somewhat ostentatious. . The facility took up a whole block and reminded me of the church in the mall in Lakeland, Florida that I attended last summer. They were nice there. Lots of cars here as was there too.
Walked into small worship center that was pleasantly full of "common folk". God loves common folk that's why he made so many of them.
It took about ten seconds to get into the praise singing. It was great, God be praised! The words, the music the singing together to our Lord and Savior and Creator God was wonderful. On top of that there were baptisms! A young girl and a middle aged man! God be praised. More praise singing!
I thank God for your pastor's passion for our Lord! I wish more pastors would declare "let's see what the Bible has to say about that!" He preached God's Word pertaining to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and His payment for our sins. No treatise on the underlying wisdom hidden in a random selection from God's Word. THE GOSPEL was preached, explained and professed! Praise God!
And to top it off... one lady and a family of four joined the church during the invitation read more
