I work at 10 am on Sundays, so it's been a struggle to find a "friendly" church that offers an early service. We researched CCC and attended for the first time this morning. We really enjoyed it. They greeted us as soon as we walked in, very friendly, music was good, and we were fed by the preaching. What more could a person ask for :)

We are a good Christian family who experienced a…read morehorrible break-in into our home and had to flee to Branson to find a place to stay, because our city has become so ridden with crime, it wasn't safe for me and my two babies. We came to this church, asking for help to get us an extended stay for a hotel, since we only get paid daily and didn't have enough all in one go. We were low on food and it's been getting freezing outside. We didn't have friends or family that we knew and we told this church ALL of this. We were in deep need for some help. They had us fill out an application to see if we could receive anything from them, which already gave us a bad vibe about this place. It's been two whole weeks and they chose not to help us. And do you know what terrible thing the man there said? "If we DECIDE not to help, just know that the Lord will." Are you actually KIDDING me? I'm not going to say much else, but I know the Lord is going to bring this up when you all die. How EVIL!!!

If you want to be told religious lies, and unsound doctrine, don't go to this church. I just saw a review calling what Pastor Moore teaches as heresy. How sad that anyone would lie about Brother Moore. Brother Moore teaches truth, not heresy. We need to pray for this person because no lie is of the truth. It is a lie that this church teaches heresy.

I say this even though I grew up attending a smaller church so much so that the pastor knew each and every family in the congregation. And I like that a lot. I have found that with some large churches with big video screens, big music speakers, big parking lots and big congregations and "campuses" that sometimes the teachings of Christ get somewhat lost in all the other noise. But that is not the case at James River. I have attended several services and the pastors here are teaching directly from the Bible, they are praying and worshipping and they are real about what church is for. They have a wonderful program that they did in May where you can fill a bag with non-perishable food, baby supplies and toiletries to fill a pantry for those in need. That is incredible to me and a very real way to worship. One thing about this church that my mom mentioned is how casual the dress is. If you are accustomed to putting on your Sunday best (we are) at James River Church, I advise that you should be prepared to stand out for being one of the best dressed in a sea of t-shirts, jeans and tennis shoes.
