Church has become a bad word these days, right alongside that word religion. The actions of church attenders and the atmospheres of many church's have become less than desirable and at times even confrontational or hostile. Lets face it. Those are not great characteristics for the gas stations for our souls. We can't go in and get fed & recharged because of our fear of judgment, or labeling that seems so easy to do for some. If we manage to sneak into the sanctuary somehow, we may then suffer an hour or so sermon given with abundant truth and minimal grace and that's just mean. Chances are you have heard of North Point Church in various settings. I'm not sure what you've heard, but I hope you take a sec to scan through some simple truths that are intrinsic within the walls and the staff there. - You don't have to open the door for yourself when you walk in because there will be multiple smiling faces throwing smiles your way to hold it open for you. - Once inside, you'll immediately seek to find the source of the smell of coffee that has your mouth watering with anticipation and your belly sensing the warmth to come because their coffee rocks! - Coffee in hand, you head toward the main sanctuary where you see yet another smiling face sharing a few friendly and welcoming words to greet you. - You find your perfect seat that is close enough to see what's important but not too close that you might catch pastor spit if he runs into scripture, falls into a pool of passion and excitement, and can't settle down before spraying the first two rows in saliva and traces of coffee. - You'll worship. This is an experience to be lived and lived once more to fully appreciate the quality talent on that stage. - There's a relevant and important message that will be shared that is guaranteed to satisfy the soul and leave your ribs sore because their lead pastor has jokes for days. - Done! There are no awkward looks that seem to size you up or attempt to guess the number of digits in your bank account. No weird conversations that are really just fishing expeditions trying to dig up the dirt that disqualifies you from receiving scripture messages at that church, because at North Point Church, they will directly or indirectly communicate to you that you are known, you are needed, and you are loved as a brother or sister in Christ. Truth - In the sermon one day I actually heard the lead pastor say this, "Hey welcome to North Point, if your high, great we've got snacks in the back. If you're hung over, cool we've got great coffee. A little bit of joking with the very real intent of letting everyone know that when Jesus repeatedly tells us he will meet us right where we are, regardless of where that is or how unworthy we think we are, inside those walls flows North Point Church DNA that carries out the mission to provide A Safe Place to Find & Follow Jesus. read more

When I moved to Springfield, I was in the middle of a rough divorce. While I walked through the most painful season of my life, North Point was truly a safe place for me to be, surrounded by my family and the new friends I'd made at the Nixa Campus. Now being on the other side of that moment of life, I'm truly forever grateful for the community of North Point. Pastor Jeremy Johnson leads and teaches from a place of genuine love and care for people, and the staff shares the same heart. North Point breathes empathy and kindness into the communities surrounding Springfield, from the Dream Center to Republic, all way down to Nixa. I've been attending North Point Church for over 6 years and the community and staff are next to none. While I believe there is no perfect church, North Point has striven to excel in their mission "to be a safe place for people to find and follow Jesus." Most recently, they have increased their outreach programs though the Springfield Dream Center and provided a rich curriculum called The Jesus Experience for small groups to both study the Gospel and develop weekly rhythms and disciplines in what it means to follow Jesus, in a way that is easy to understand. read more

Whether you're trying to figure things out for the first time or you have a lifetime of experiences, this is a great place to attend. The pastor keeps my short attention span by using tons of humor and then delivers a solid Biblical truth that sticks in my mind.
