I had a positive experience for all three summers I did camp there and I recommend this place for a summer camp for preschoolers and elementary-age students. I was in 4th grade last time I did camp there in case anyone is wondering.

I've had the opportunity to volunteer here this school year. They're seriously awesome. The school…read moreis a well kept and clean facility, and very welcoming to walk in to. The staff is literally amazing. The principal is super involved and he knows the students by name. He is present in the halls, the lunchroom, and I've seen him go in to class rooms on occasion. He cares and it reflects in the staff. These teachers pout in to their students and you can see it in the kids. The staff here support each other, and do their best to run a safe and encouraging learning environment. When I started here I thought I'd be helping them, but it turns out they've been a blessing to me too.

Lorain County Community College is scamming veterans…read more I attended this university from 2020-2023 on the Post 9/11 GI Bill. However, my benefits expired before I finished so I had to pay the difference on my student account. On Jan. 24, 2024, I paid off the balance in full which was $2,440.72, but I never received my diploma for over a year. When I went in to inquire about it on April 8, 2025, they said I still owed $400.45. I paid that amount in full but again did not receive my diploma. The Department of Veterans Affairs provided me with documentation confirming that Lorain County Community College owed me $211.67. They sent me a check for $188.78. Then apparently to celebrate 4th of July weekend, Lorain County Community College sent me a bill for $118.78 when I have not attended a class there in over 18 months and have settled this account twice now to the tune of $2,841.17. If this does not constitute a scam, it is gross and shameful negligence. For all I know, they will continue to hold my diploma hostage and they will continue to bill me for classes I took and paid for years ago. Shame on you, Lorain County Community College.

As someone who graduated once before from a larger college, this campus is underwhelming in regards to amenities. It doesn't offer any on-campus restaurants, has a very small, unimpressive "rec center" and does not have a whole lot of activities going on. While it is a satellite campus, I have been to other satellite campuses and community colleges that offer much more for their students. With that aside, it's a decent school. The professors are more personable than at larger colleges and get to know you by name, as class sizes are much smaller. I have been a student here for prerequisites since Fall 2021 and have enjoyed my time here.

Knowing what I know now I would have fled this school and attended Cleveland Heights High. Every…read moreday I was depressed here. I just wish I'd understood that plenty of local schools are so much better. Ignatius routinely employs uncertified alumni with little experience. Two teachers and a coach were emotionally and psychologically abusive. I was a year younger than all the other students which doesn't help in this toxic environment. Homophobia and racism are endemic. Zero science during freshman year, zero opportunity to socialize with girls. Ignatius now offers a health science mentoring and internship program, probably because they noticed very few of us smarties were prepared for medical studies. They had to improve their game given the exhorbitant tuition and inferior curriculum compared to good public schools in the area that have four years of science, superior arts programs, healthier culture and don't subject young boys to four years of mandatory religious indoctrination. They actually told us there was zero networking for medical school. It seems like efforts were made to improve, but I would never send my son's here or indeed to any "Catholic" school after my experience. If your parents hold you back a year or two in one of the local "Catholic" grade schools, play football and the administration will shepherd you with better instructors and manipulate your record to improve your GPA.
