I contacted Kyle to ask if there was any possibility the water could have come In Through the roof. He said he would get back to me. Later that morning I contacted the power company to request inspection of the electric meter. Before I heard a response from the power company, Mark from Honest Abe texted me to tell me he was 90 minutes away and was coming to inspect the roof. I told him we could wait until I found out if the meter had a gap that could've let the water in from the side of the house, but he said he wanted to come and check it out and make sure everything was in order. He didn't have to do this, but he came and inspected the roof which was as expected fine. He did find, a nearly half-inch gap around the electric meter, which is where the water came in during the storms. Mark went to the local hardware store bought a sealant, came back and sealed the area around the meter and checked the inside circuit box to make sure that the water was minimal and it was safe. None of this had anything to do with the roof and yet he insisted that it was an easy fix And resolved the problem. This is a quality company who provide a quality service more importantly, if there's even a question about whether there might've been a problem with the roof stand installed, they sent their technician out immediately, and the gentleman solved an unrelated problem. Thank you, Mark, Kyle, and Honest Abe Roofing. All of you are the best.

Adding gutters was a game changer, and 1st Class Roofing was the right choice for us. 1st Class Roofing came out quickly to do a quote. With it landing right in the ballpark of what we had expected to spend, it made sense to go with a company that took the time to answer our questions and do an actual survey and quote than others who did not. When installation day came, they were more than willing to take desired location for down spouts into consideration, and even with a slight delay in getting the product, they were always in contact with us. The installation of the gutters was quick, and the team they sent were extremely professional and hard workers. If you are looking for gutter installation, make sure to contact them. You will not be disappointed.

(I was present during phones calls where leadership shopped for the lowest priced labor by the square). Before hiring this company, ask whose crews are actually performing the labor portion of the work. Having one high school buddy as a "project manager" to supervise a Home Depot labor crew doesn't make them "in-house" any more than lending them a "1st Class" t-shirt for the day does. From a sales perspective, I am going on 6 months of delays receiving my agreed-upon 1099 commissions for completed and fully funded projects. It's become a revolving cycle of "next week," "next month," "after Christmas," "after this next commercial check comes in," or "when we get back from traveling out of the country." While leadership still seems to have plenty of time for vacations, sales reps with families are over here chasing money they've already earned. Before accepting a sales position, go over every compensation agreement point by point, and ensure the commission verbiage, formula and payment timelines are all documented clearly in writing. They state not having to payout 1099 commission because I was given a company gas card while using my own vehicle to drive to roof inspections, and that I could have used one of their old iPads as justification for withholding pay). What was presented as a "percentage of GROSS revenue" was later recalculated after labor, overhead, and profit were removed from the numbers -- effectively turning it into a "percentage of NET" rather than "GROSS." Unfortunately, I'm not the only independent/ sub contractor on here with bills and a family who's had to deal with severe delays on pay. Like another contractor wrote, I tried the persistent respectful approach for 6 months hoping this could be resolved, and yet here I am with unanswered calls, texts, and voicemails.

The sealer had more gloss than my previous sealer and I liked it better. It has seemed so far to hold up better than other sealers that have been used since I first had the bricks installed back in 2017. Also, their price was better than the others (I did shop around). But, at that age, it was time to bite the bullet and pony up full cash for a replacement before my luck could run out. I interviewed three roofing companies and selected RBS because they weren't trying to "sell" me on anything. It was clear that, in contrast to the other two roofers, RBS was genuine about providing a quality product. Chad came out promptly, provided a free estimate, which was neither the lowest nor the highest: new shingles, minor wood repair, replacement gutters, and downspouts. I dithered about shingle color choice, so Chad sent me pictures of actual homes in the area with the shingle colors I was considering. This turned out to be a real help, as it's impossible to look at a sample board and get a good idea of how the shingles look in real life, on a real roof. RBS took care of the permitting and HOA approval process (much appreciated!) and kept in touch as to the progress. In about 4 weeks, the workers arrived precisely at the promised time and were done that same day. The end result was a really nice-looking roof of top quality shingles and careful workmanship. I was amazed at how many times workers went around the perimeter of my house with a magnet, making their very best effort to get up any stray nails. They also were super-meticulous about cleaning up other debris. Chad came by the next day to make sure everything was done to spec and nicely tidied up. Very positive experience, and I definitely recommend RBS.
