You can access the park from the main road or through a couple street in the neighborhood and it was really beautiful and well kept. We walked around and my dog enjoyed stopping at some of the trees for sniffs and we ended up walking through the big green field as well. They have areas to play different sports and a playset for the kids. I'll be stopping here before my dog's grooming visits from now on to let him stretch out his legs, go potty and destress from the car ride before his bath.

This is a very short walk from my friend's (they live behind WinCo) and we relaxed and talked for a bit before it was time to head back. I noticed a lot of parents let their kids run amuck w/o much consideration to their surroundings which irritates me to the very core. A kid had an accident on the playground therefore the kiddos left the area yet that kid's parent or guardian was nowhere to be found. A few picnic tables but beware - no shade whatsoever. Be smart, regardless of time, put sunscreen on yourself and the kids to protect their skin and always have water readily available. I did not see a public water fountain but then again, even if there was one, I wouldn't use it nor want my kids to use it either.

Last minute, I discovered the bathrooms were down so we switched our reservation to here and I'm so glad we did. The tables were wonderfully spread out. The covered area was nice and cool. It was close to the bathrooms which is nice! There is a lot of grass area and two smaller playgrounds near by for the kids. There is also a horse shoe pit, as well as a few smaller bbq pits that are awkwardly spread out. Loads of parking! You can park on the street or in the parking lot. Over all, great place to plan an outdoor event!

Roseview Park is one of those hidden gems that just does a lot of things right. We were here…read moreyesterday and happened to catch a "Pie in the Park" activity put on by a local church, and it was cool to see the space being used for real community gathering. It just has that welcoming, neighborhood vibe. There's a great covered pavilion that's perfect for birthday parties, picnics, or small group meetups. Plenty of shade and table space. While we were there, people were scattered all around--some tossing a football, others playing a casual game of soccer, and a few folks jogging the perimeter. It's a good-sized open field that invites all kinds of activity. There's also a solid basketball court, and a baseball/softball diamond that I've seen packed with kid leagues during the summer months. It's clearly a well-loved park, and that shows. As for the kids, there are two separate playgrounds--one designed for the bigger kids and one tailored for toddlers and littles, which is always appreciated. Everything felt safe and in good shape. All in all, Roseview Park is clean, versatile, and has that community feel that makes you want to come back. Whether you're here for a picnic, some exercise, or just to let the kids burn off some energy, it's a win across the board.

And considering "Van Maren Park" has been opened to the public since 2005, I feel honored and privileged to give this park its very first review for all to enjoy reading. Citrus Heights has roughly 25 parks; more than your average city with less than 100,000 residents. I find an abundance of outdoor recreational areas wonderful because it allows kids to truly interact the old fashioned way by playing outdoors and enjoying the fresh air. Located in a truly quiet, suburban, and residential part of town (in between Thalia Way and Stock Ranch Road), Van Maren Park is small but also feels as if you're in the wilderness. Since this park is only amount of mile from my home, I've walked and biked here on numerous occasions ever since moving to Citrus Heights in April 2016. With well over 4 acres of land, some of the features you will find here are 8 benches, 2 covered picnic tables, 2 BBQ grills, a children's play area, a basketball court, a bike rack, and a drinking fountain. Additionally, there are several paved trails leading down to a garden & nature area as well as a wooden bridge and creek. On the several times I've frequented this park, there has been little to no people coming here! I mainly see walkers, joggers, or people walking their dogs. And without a lot of the locals that visit here, finding a parking spot (if you choose driving here) is an absolute breeze. Even in the hottest, drought-stricken summer months (July-September), there is quite a bit of freshly cut green grass. I would give this quaint little park a perfect 5-star rating if it wasn't for a few minor things. I do realize this is a small park but it is lacking a restroom. Not a big deal but if you do plan on bringing a large gathering for the day (especially small children/babies), the closest restroom is nearly 1/2 mile away. Also, even though there are trash bins, everything is few and far between. So plan accordingly if you do happen to spend a few hours out here. Overall, this is a great family park that is super quiet and a great relaxing place to spend the day.
