I had the absolute worst experience in this store. It was bad enough that I sat patiently awaiting my order (30 minutes) and watching people who came in long after I placed my order receive their food. When I arrived in the store there were only 4 customers in the store. I was behind a customer who placed her order and while I placed mine after her, I noticed that she received her food within minutes (2 sub sandwiches is what she ordered). I thought it odd that is was taking so long as I watched people come in 10 to 15 minutes after I placed my order receive their food and leave the store. I did notice the gentleman that ordered behind me was still there waiting for his food. Finally he received his order and I thought perhaps I would receive mine after him even though I ordered before him. What I saw next was two more customers receive their order and after the last one I approached the counter to ask what is the problem. I was informed by the attendant that she was just making my sandwich? Now that angered me - 30 minutes later you are just now making my one sub sandwich. She was very kind and professional and asked me what I would like for the wait. I told her I should receive my food at no cost. All was well until the so called manager (only male at that time) displayed a very nasty attitude and said " I can give you a refund and that is all I can do." It was not even what he said that pissed me off, it was his tone and disdain look at me. At that point I told him I want to know why I am still in the store 30 minutes after my order and 6 people received their orders. It is here that this employee began raising his voice and telling me how many people he only has on staff (2 ) and how many toasters he has going and how he is trying to make a living to pay his bills and on and on running his nasty mouth. Yelling at me in front of the customers - it was very disrespectful and unprofessional. All this man had to do is simply say, ma'am I am sorry for the inconvenience and we only have 3 people working today. I can refund your money and the sub sandwich is on us. Again, I apologize for the mix up and hope you come back to see us again. This is how a manager handles the mishandling of a customers order. That would have been sufficient to me. But yelling at me and telling me that I am slowing his staff down in service the customers in the store. I asked him what am I. I informed him to not raise his voice at me and commenced to giving him a piece of my mind. Had I had my cell phone with me I would have recorded and posted to social media - and that is not even my style. His behavior was disgraceful. I simply and to tell him to shut his damn mouth and do not say anything else to me and give me my sub so I can go. He kept talking and the most insulting and unprofessional thing he said was and "This from your own people." So now he is comfortable enough in his toxic behavior to tell me that I am treating him in such a way and I am an African American just like he is. Totally racist comment - what does my discontentment with his behavior and service have to do with the color of my skin. I asked for his name and he refused to provide it. This incident happened on Tuesday, 4/19 around 4pm. I will be reporting him to Fire House Sub headquarters to file a formal complaint. I will be posting his actions to the Stonecrest Community facebook page as well. His behavior was so egregious that the community and his employer need to know about his unprofessionalism he has displayed at the expense of Fire House Sub. I will not be returning to this establishment and do not mind the extra drive to their Tucker store where the staff are always kind and professional. We all experience days of stress in our jobs and that gives us no right to take it out on a customer demanding an explanation for poor service. I feel very disrespected and treated like my time and money holds to value to this location. The sad thing is I noticed this manager looking at me the moment I entered the store. He starred and did not speak. The other two ladies in the store were trying to accommodate me, but he talked over them. It was a very ugly scene and one I do not appreciate being a part of. I am a business owner and would never, ever, under no circumstances treat me customer with such disrespect by yelling and not providing them a sufficient explanation to making them wait 30 minutes. Even your shift leader anticipates with confidence of how you would handle the situation. A simple phone call to your customer, informing you were temporarily out of a certain item on my order and giving me the opportunity to choose a replacement item is the respectable way to approach this. I love Firehouse, I'm a fairly new customer and have been stuck since the first time I had it. This was my 2nd time at this location by Stonecrest mall and I was pretty disappointed. I got a Hero sub and had them add vinegar and oil (maybe that was my mistake). By the time I got home (15 mins) my sandwich was soaked. I couldn't even eat it. Now I've added oil and vinegar to this sandwich before and got home and it was perfectly fine to eat. Maybe the person that made it this time was heavy handed or something. I just feel like if I'm spending $15+ on a sandwhich, there's no way I should run into this problem. I'm definitely going back, just don't know if I'll come back to this location. Anyways, two managers said that my Wife and I had to get sandwiches exactly how it's listed with No-substitutes, which is understandable but we don't eat pork and ham was part of the sandwich, we simply asked for it to be deleted or taken off and we were told that wasn't possible? They said we can take off the meat after we get the sandwich, which sounded like total nonsense and they said that corporate was watching them.. like now we're being criminal because we didn't want to eat or touch the ham- We left, but I came to get the corporate number which I called right after the incident only to get a horrible response of listening music making fun of your wait, then it hung up on me after 10min of waiting, called back to be placed back at the end of the line so not only do I NOT recommend this establishment, it's obvious there's a serious plantation mentality, with the employees not being able to think rationally or to justify the customer needs or wants for a damn sandwich.. I make my tuna with sweet relish at home so I desire the same hint of sweetness when I order tuna out. Well, up until Firehouse Subs, I have never found a place that makes it slightly sweet. With that said, I can't speak for all the rest of the sandwiches since I just cannot tear myself away from the tuna sandwich but my coworkers loved the sandwiches they consumed and my exe used to enjoy his sandwiches. The subs are GREAT! This is by far the best spot for hot subs. Ive been to this 99 A rated location a few times but was very disappointed they had NO ice! I was told the machine was down. They were closing in 10 minutes so they were ready to go. 2 ladys came to the door begging to get in and Brandon the manager, nicely let them in I thought that was very nice because I know they all are ready to go home! I must admit...I just do not understand all the hype about Firehouse Subs. The subs are not any better tasting than any other sub shop. In fact, I would say they taste worse than any other sub shop. Not to mention the price is absolutely ridiculous. And at this Stonecrest Mall location, the service is terrible. I have tried this place 3 times now. The first time, I was the only person in the restaurant and it took 13 minutes to get a sub made. Pathetic. The other two times it was busy in there and it took about 10-12 minutes which is still a long time when you are only the 3rd person in line. All in all, if you have a ton of money, plenty of time on your hands and a passion for mediocre food, this is a great location for you to try. If you are getting it to go, I highly recommend ordering and pre-paying online. However, they will still take 5 minutes to acknowlege your existence if there is even one other person in line when you get there. But it will save you about 10 minutes. As for me, the third strike was the last strike and I will not go back unless someone else is A)Buying and B)has their mind set on going there. read more
