We had a great time here. First, scheduling this experience was really easy. I called the studio, they provided me with options, we picked one. I was worried because it was so easy. I am under the impression from their website that you'd need an appointment to have the making experience. It could also be that I put this in my head or that we went in December. The place is easy to find, has dedicated parking, and costs less than other places in or around town. That isn't why it's the best value. The reason I'd tell you this is the best value is the diversity of options in what you can make and how you can make your glass. At other places in town where we've made our own ornaments you can pick colors but not add designs or textures to your ornaments. Here you could. This is an annual tradition for my mother's birthday so she did one with a striped pattern and I made one with texture. The artist who helped us explained every step of the process and was clear about how to do the hands-on portions. We had an excellent experience that ended up being different than the ones we've had before. They also had made items for sale in their gallery.

Very impressed with the facilities, staff and demonstration! I have visited other glass studios before- but I was very impressed with our visit here! We got to go behind-the-scenes and see how glass pieces are made. Our demonstration was detailed and up-close. We watched as the co-owner (forgive me, his name escapes me) created a dish. This process took about 15-20 minutes and it's an intriguing process to watch. He explained everything that goes into the process, from the furnaces to the heating and cooling, to the coloration process, to how to blow air into the glass, to how spinning the glass certain ways matters, and much more. We could ask questions, take pictures, and on some days you can blow a piece yourself. We were on a group package trip that was scheduled to visit another business afterwards, so we didn't have time for that last item. But we'd definitely like to come back and blow our own glass piece. The front room is gorgeous. There are prices of all shapes and kinds and colors to see. Some are available for purchase. There is glass incorporated into everything in the room. The reception desk is blown glass, the sitting area tables have pieces underneath them, there are glass pieces on the walls and hanging from the ceiling, and even the indoor plants have blown glass stuck in the dirt around them. You can also watch from the front room through a glass window as someone in the back is working in the hot shop. Love it! Highly recommend a visit!

We visited the studio as part of our spring break. We're recent fans of Blown Away, and it was awesome to get a close up demo. Mike helped us design the pieces and then explained what he was doing every step of the way. Beautiful setup, everyone was super friendly, and the pieces in the shop are gorgeous. Mike is clearly a master of his craft. Worth the visit!!!

SUV was pristine and spacious, good sound system. Jesus wept and Hurricane Helene sent rowdy storms all the way up the Bourbon Trail. I felt safe as a babe wrapped in his mother's arms as Casey piloted us through the impenetrable rainstorm, telling stories and educating us about bourbon all the way. We had a few appointments to maintain... Casey's intimate knowledge of all the distilleries allowed him to steer us in the right direction, as locations closed due to power failures and flooding and the sins of man. God's anger was biblical on this day! Would use these guys again in a second. Five Stars. Ask Casey about Doris!

He picked us up from Louisville both days and took us to different areas based on the planned itinerary (one day east with stops to Woodford reserve and one day south with stops to maker's mark). The car was an SUV, clean and comfortable. Casey was a great driver. He was friendly, great conversation and had interesting tips and side detours to fill out gaps in the itinerary (ask for the sausage biscuit from the gas station for breakfast if it's on your way). They also work with you creating an itinerary during the planning stage. Would highly recommend anyone that wants to plan a custom distillery tour.

The second most expensive was the Mizunara whiskey from Boundary Oak, a $250 bottle. It's made with staves from a rare Japanese tree, that has to be at least 200 years old before it can be used. It truly imparts a one-of-a-kind flavor. This was included in the premium package, which lets you try some terrific and 'fancy' stuff for $30. You also get an etched glass to take home. Gerry was a great tasting guide! He was very knowledgeable about the products, and how they may be best enjoyed, including a whiskey that needed to sit for a bit to open up. I also want to give some extra credit, as when I asked about their "Sinful 69" bottle, he poured a little sample for me, and called over the other folks who were doing the tasting to try it also. Alas, I did not have an opportunity this time around to see the inner workings of distillation, but as I understand it, this is more an explanation that tour through the production area. With this, Boundary Oak Distillery was a great, memorable stop on my birthday trip to Kentucky.

Great bourbons with some added treats like the lavender infused bourbon. Bought a bottle to bring home that I mix with some straight bourbon for a great twist on an old fashion.
