I am a working mother, so I was only able to take off twelve weeks after my son was born. Needless to say, I was terrified about the thought of leaving my infant child with someone other than myself. So I did what any mother in my position would do: I researched every childcare option under the sun and put potential providers under the microscope until I found one I could feel good about. I narrowed my search down to a handful of places, and then went to each one's website, DPFS, & interviewing and observing the centers firsthand. Firehouse Kids were very professional and took my requests to interview them seriously (twice, went there before my son was born and again after he was born). When speaking with Mrs. Ashley, director of Firehouse Kids, I felt that she understood what an important and difficult decision this was for me. The way that she explained what a serious decision it was for parents to place their angels in her care and how that knowledge guides and informs everything they do at Firehouse Kids really struck me. Every day I get a daily report of what he ate, diaper changes and how long he slept & the only suggestion or wish they did further would be to provide what he did, such as circle time or puzzles or coloring or played on the playground, etc.. I feel that information would make me feel like I know what he did all day and that I was somehow a part of it, which is something I know all working moms struggle with. So a year & half later Firehouse Kids is such an important part of our lives, Infant I teachers ( Mrs. Helen (absolutely AMAZING), Mrs. Kaitlyn & Mrs. Amanda who spoiled our baby boy in their care) & Infant II teachers (Mrs. Lorri (his 2nd mama), Mrs. Hillary & Mrs. Michelle who have been there for all his "first") has made our son so happy, & go above and beyond what is expected of them. As you can tell we grew very fond & attached to the teachers we dropped off our son with in the mornings. They do so many wonderful things to show that they value our trust and support of them. They're very caring and upfront and honest if they have issues or concerns, which I love because you have to keep the communication lines open.

If I could I'd put O stars, they are always severely understaffed,…read morethe food/drinks in the fridge aren't dated on when last used, they aren't good at time management, while I worked here I had my daughter enrolled and she never learned anything and was in Pre-K, there's no set lesson plans, her teacher yelled at her and called her a selfish brat in front of me, goes by Ms Carter, made me clean a whole classroom by myself on my first day in the morning with no help and then gave me 10 minutes to do it, then sent kids in the room and made more of a mess. They never have a steady schedule so you're never promised a break, I called in sick because me and my daughter has the stomach flu and they still tried calling me in after I told them I kept throwing up and said they'd deduct my pay if I didn't come in. You or your child will get sick here often either for working or placing your child. There was 4/5 year olds in the 3's classroom and has 2's coming in as well that weren't potty trained and there's no changing table in the room, and they'd go hours without a diaper change. They said they'd help send them back but never did. Never followed states law about ratio, I was with the 2's and it's 1 teacher: 11 kids, and they would have 16 kids with me by myself and knew other teachers like the tods and infants were bad as well and a baby went 6/7 hours without a bottle since she was alone until I came in and she had 10 infants! All by her self to watch, feed, burp and hold. Just would give this place -100/10 for working and to place your child! Never trust them even though it's a Christian learning based, they never practiced God's word only did a prayer! I only lasted here a month, waste of my time!

Ummm whatever happened to redirecting vs suspending a kid lol #freemoneyefforts #nocameras to validate allegation. I DO not recommend this facility at all!

When the hemilich maneauver was performed on a child there, she made justification as to why the minimum standards regarding child endangerment policies were not followed, as dictated by TX minimum child-care facility standards. There was also an instance when an individual picked up my son, and this person was not on file to pick up my child, and was never questioned by any staff. They just let this situation occur, and thank goodness I was able to look into this situation as "what if" vs. the alternative. When I inquired about policies and procedures moving forward, she completely took defense and showed no empathy or remorse for the faults that occurred. Fortunately, there are some great individuals that work there, but the owner ruins this atmosphere for all involved. Take your money else where and allow child care facilities to take care of your priceless loved ones, by individuals that follow the minimum children endangerment policies as mandated by the state of Texas.

Front staff is awesome minus the older lady in the mornings when you ask her something she has no…read moreidea, just have a little problem with the teachers and not just my child's teachers its ALL of the teachers. Most of them are nice and smile but i've walked by the baby room last week and noticed a teacher jerking a baby out of the bouncer so i stopped the babies foot was stuck in the leg holes both teachers were laughing then with the same baby she took it over to the counter and put him upside down head touching the counter again they were both laughing. I've also seen teachers yelling at the kids in the ball pit room, anytime I walk by the toddler room they are all sitting in the table high chairs, either crying or sitting there like zombies. The room across that the kids are always going wild hitting, BITING, yelling. The teachers in that room always look mad or are yelling. Noticed the morning teacher grab a kid by the arm and let him go causing him to fall. In my child's class the teacher is always standing outside the door talking to a young blonde teacher while her back is also turned to the kids. Also notice anytime I come in the teacher already knows I'm coming in, I've heard them call the name out on the speaker in the rooms. I've seen so many kids crying in the morning and makes me question what is going on in the rooms since the cameras do not record. Also every day my child acts like she hasn't eaten all day, please someone explain?! Please think twice about putting your kids in a daycare, look up everything.
