I suffered through horrible digestive problems no matter what I ate, very low energy to the point I could barely get out of bed, poor sleep, low immunity, random nerve pain, stubborn weight gain, foggy brain, and more, all of which affected my ability to work and live a normal life. But receptions will pick up the phone before 10am. For walk-in, you can't make an appointment. If you are a regular and not a walk-in, appointment at best. So walked in right at 10am and didn't have to wait long. I was out by 10:20. Not bad. Compared to BC doctors/clinic this is definitely 5 stars service. In BC due to shortage of doctors, walk-in wait will be over 3 hours. There are lots of seats in the waiting area. Sit on the waves chair. There is also a Waves coffee shop next door.

Yes, this is controversial for some…read more I support universal health care, but don't quite understand why it should come at a universal low standard. My dentist calls me every 4 months for a cleaning or checkup. When was the last time I had a blood test.?... 10 years! I know many have adequate medical care through established family practices via standard health care, but some don't. I did not. I think I knew something was not right and when I couldn't arrange a standard medical exam through my MD (after 1 year of trying and two misconnects) then I signed up for Copeman. After the intake questions and battery of exams and tests, it was found that essentially everything was off the charts. I was actually in pretty bad shape. Fortunately things were found early enough, I received some expert advice, and was able to get some lifestyle choices turned around before it was too late. The actual facility is centrally located, has easy off-street parking with nice (modern and clean!) offices and waiting room. There are nutritionists, physiotherapists, exercise kinesiologists, nurses, lab staff and counsellors available, but most importantly, physicians who actually take their hand off of the door handle when they talk to you. For lab tests, samples are all taken on site. This is the way health care should be. It is not luxurious, unless you compare it to the standard squalid waiting rooms at physicians' offices, usually located in dilapidated medical buildings with antique furnishings and equipment from the 60s. How we have come to accept the current state as acceptable is bewildering to me. While I feel a twinge of liberal guilt about the whole thing, this is a complicated issue with no easy answers. I was not willing to die waiting for politicians and government to figure it out. At $4K/ first year and $2.5K/year following (there are also family plans), it is certainly not for everyone. I am a supporter, and while this kind of service is not the answer to our current delivery problems, it just might be part of the solution.

I have been struggling with anxiety my whole life and as a teenager, had a severe eating disorder. After exhausting all other treatments, therapy, mediation, exercise, I was ready to try anti-depressants. Naidu hardly even looked me in the eye, showed zero empathy to my situation and had the nerve to tell me my situation was potentially hormonal. Thank you for being the most stereotypical male doctor I've ever come into contact with... I'm surprised he didn't ask if I was on my period while he was at it. I told him I'm a highly educated, competent woman, and am advocating for myself. That I deserve to be treated and hear my options. He proceeds to tell me that if I'm having suicidal tendencies, to go to a hospital (the psych ward) for treatment. I said that is not where I'm at, but simply want the care I need and to ensure I am working the system to the best of my abilities while maintaining his code of ethics of course. He prints off a blood sheet test and sends me on my way to get hormone testing.. This man lacks any emotional intelligence skills and clearly only cares about getting his patients out of his room as quickly as possible. The worst care, the worst empathy, the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor.
