I love Miliken's soccer dome and could recall back in the day when wished I could sleep in it…read morebecause it reminded me of a giant tent! A lot of people have the WowFactor when they walk in because it's huge! Entering in the main blue doors, there is a mini area where the vending machines, offices, changerooms and washrooms are before you enter the revolving doors and into the dome. There are two individual washrooms here - they usually do a pretty good job of cleaning these up because a lot of kids use these and kids seem to have a difficult time using washrooms sometimes. It used to be a little unclear for people, but please push the door to the right because when one person pushes the door to the left, the dome will begin to deflate and also, the correct direction of the door will become stuck. Inside the dome, it's fake grass so it works year-round and it's equipped with two large nets and four mini nets for younger children. There are soccer balls available and is used with the City of Markham and Unionville Milliken Soccer programs. Many other people who rent the dome will need to bring their own soccer balls.

I play indoor soccer here every Sunday during the winter in the UMSC men's recreational league…read more You can also reserve this field for various events by calling the UMSC club house. This soccer dome is pretty standard - 4 change rooms, plenty of bleachers to spectate, and 2 benches for the teams to sit on. The net are miniature compared to outdoor, but that's expected. The ceiling is pretty high (higher than Mt. Joy), and so the ball rarely goes out of bounds in this manner. The field is a good size and allows for a nice game of 7v7. The only negative about this place is the parking. There are very few parking spots in their parking lot - probably only enough for 1 team's cars; however, there's a McDonald's parking lot right across that has plenty of space.

The "promise" of varied Coaching techniques, aswell as advanced contacts, were mostly possible because of Marco Reda, being Head of Coaching @ the time. My Son learned NOTHING from PFC, except : 1- Argue with Authority; 2-Swear @ the Team, ( Unless the Owner of the Club is Present); 3 - Let Parents of other Players determine your worth, by their " Opinion/Donations " to PFC; Fire a Youth Excellent Player, after PFC has won the Significant Tournaments of the year. But make sure, it is done after the PLAYER may NO LONGER register to play for ANY other team that Season, (July 1st). Their Mission Statement IS A LIE, for individuals. For making a living for Liam, and those that PROFIT, from his school, the Mission Statement, is a clause of being accountable to the Corporation. It is a true and profitable experience, for the owners. Players & Employees, beware!

We have been impressed with both. The summer camps - which run on a weekly basis - are well organized, coached by skilled and engaged coaches, and value adding in terms of skills. Not babysitting programs, the kids came back each day excited about the program and keen to return. The coaches expect engagement and commitment and the kids buy in. The Power organization is responsive and easy to deal with. The invitation-only academy program has been excellent. It is not an insignificant commitment. Our 10 year old practices three days a week and in season, plays a game also. We've been impressed with the well-oiled structure, the knowledge and empathy of the coaching staff, and the culture of civility and professionalism that Power FC imbues in both its students and their parents. For children of this age, the program is focused on skills development, and team games are not all about winning - they are an extension of the learning opportunity. As a result, the kids are focused on their own development, they are supportive and play well with each other, and no one - parents included - has too much at stake in any given game. Power expects the parents to be supportive but not coaching from the sidelines, and the difference between this quietly professional style and the 'tiger parent/coach' is often evident on the sidelines in our games. In our case, our child is one of two girls playing on what is otherwise a boys' team - sadly there are not enough girls to field a girls only team. She feels included and valued by both the coaching staff and her team members, and on rare occasions when they have played against girls teams, they have played kids a year older, and typically dominated. Seeing my daughter play in other forums with kids her age validates my perspective that the skills she is learning at Power are among the best available in the city.
