This park has a private lot which can park up to 20 cars I believe. An individual each of the following huge baseball court, basketball court, tennis courts. Tennis courts don't need to be paid for. Just share with others as long as the recreation dept of Markham is not using it. Skateboard area where you can practice and play. Very clean with large recycle and garbage bins. As to why it is called "Red Park", the only thing I can think of is that they hold the annual Strawberry Festival there, during the Canada Day long weekend. I was at that festival in 2022. The neighbouring streets were closed each time I've been there, but I've only been there twice, so don't take my work for it. There is no free WiFi. It is not wheelchair accessible. Instead there is a small slide for toddler use in the corner. For a large space, could feature a few more additions. A few swings and hammocks but has a really neat splash pad my kids enjoyed! Nice that they include an open air roof top (for parents I'm assuming to sit and watch the kids in the splashed as they could play there for hours). Basketball court and soccer field nearby. It seems to a pretty new park as many of the trees are still pretty young. Visually, I really appreciate the design, but on a practical level, the park is very exposed. It would be great if they added more shade elements and/or covered seating. I think as the park ages and the surrounding tree grow, this park will only get better.

This family friendly green space sits between two condo buildings and is a great place for nearby residents to stroll with fido or hang out with kids. One can access the park on foot from Highway 7 to the north. If you're driving to the park, free 2 hour parking can be found along Rougeside Promenade. The park has newly installed playground equipment, benches and covered picnic tables. Looking forward to spending time here once the park is fully open to the public.

There is a very small beach - Sunset Beach where you can launch your watercraft. Don't advise swimming in the lake - probably high bacterial counts. There's a nice trail and boardwalk close to the beach and some picnic areas a bit higher up along with a splash pad. Plenty of parking - free if Richmond Hill resident with pass. Others have to pay. Gets very busy on Summer weekends.

Even then, you have to pay at least an hour parking fee to park there; which I believe maybe 1/2 hour would be enough for a small park. There is a paved walkway along the waterfront and you can enjoy the nice scenery during your walks. You also can use the designated area to load your canoe, or you can go to the canoe club and rent one. The washrooms are now closed due to COVID-19 pandemic.

There's parking space for about two dozen cars and a wonderful children's playground just off Brimley Road. Beyond that, one can take a long walk through a swath of parkland with a few benches to stop and soak in the surroundings. Free (funded by general taxpayers). Clean. Tranquil. A brief escape from the realities of daily life for most, including myself.

So many wonderful features here: -free parking in two lots (that would NEVER happen in Vancouver) -a walk around the pond involves a flat trail, one foot bridge, and one stretch of boardwalk through a marshy patch -you never know what wild birds you might see and/or hear here (we saw a heron in the pond, and I heard the call of loons! For real!) -there is a lovely canopy of trees over the walking trail (which was very welcome, on the hot day I visited), and plenty of benches to relax along the way -there are areas of grassy meadow lands on small hills in areas by the walking trail, perfect for a picnic or throwing a frisbee on a nice day -my Toronto friend says sometimes she's seen people fishing in the pond! What a great, little oasis right in the city!

I was always able to take public transit there or get my parents to drive me. It's a large park to have a stroll, picnic or to play in the playground. It was a lot of fun being there. I would be surprised and forget how big it was just cause I didn't always have the opportunity to explore the park. Also, I remember a time where people were able to fly kites till it was banned. I don't know if they still do fireworks. For a time, the park would arrange fireworks on Canada Day and a lot of people would attend. During events like this, people would park at the Alton Towers plaza, walked or transit there because parking was limited. Local high school students would do their volunteer hours at the community center on the park. I think they need to apply online through the main city website (if memory serves me correctly).

Ice cream truck is often in the lot by the playground selling the usual overpriced items. There is a washroom onsite.

I came to Toronto just a week too late…read more(beginning of Nov) and many trees have shed their leaves but there were still some trees with their stunning foliage on their branches. There are many parks like this nearby with wide open fields of green grass, great for dogs and humans to dash across.
