The waiting area has amazing chandelirs and just brings you back into a different era. The reason why I am only giving 3 points is, because the bathrooms are simply disguisting, they are old and smell, so try not to use the bathroom here. Secondly, the entire theater is pretty dusty and since I am allergic to dust it is a problem for me. The interior of the theater is really nice though.

BUT... it is very small, the seats are not really comfortable, no holders for drinks or hand bags, it gets quite stuffy at the end of the show.. AND what I really found not-up-to-date and annoying: even if you buy tickets in advance, you have to come at least a half an hour earlier to queue in an impatient mass of people, waiting for the former show to end, the former audience to come out (there is no separate exit!) and then RUN and FIGHT for good seats as Kant Kino in 2015 still hasn't managed to organize a ticket/selling system combined with seats reservation. I guess the cinemas of Yorck Group generally don"t sell seats reservations, but somehow it all works better in other locations. To sum up - I'm sorry to say that but I guess I will try to avoid Kant Kino in the future - not due to its program but due to its bad logistic conditions.

I actually like that the staff members are super nice, it is clean and there are cool couches and a bar in the waiting area. Concession stands are pricey and the tickets are also pricey, in my opinion. The Kino I was in was not well-cleaned when I sat down, but the chair was comfortable, and I thought it was cool that ice cream is sold inside the actual theatre. I was annoyed by other international viewers because they just would not shut the hell up during the movie. I am not sure if it is always like that, since it was my first time watching a movie outside the States, but foreigners can be very annoying in the audience.

There's always something we want to see, the seats are big and comfy, and it's never packed. The lady running the joint is very kind and her English is perfect. Ticket prices are about the same as what you'd pay in SF or NYC but I guess it could be considered expensive, but oh well. We brought snacks in from our house (BECAUSE WE LIVE NEXT DOOR) but a small popcorn was like 3 euro? Hell nah. Buy your ticket, then go to Kaiser's or something and bring your shiz inside. I'm a fan and always will be. Love it!

The people working there were not the friendliest but then warmed up to us. The theaters are really small, but have the most comfy chairs and are also heated well, so a great place to hang out this time of the year. Thus far I am really enjoying the Yorck theaters and next I will check out the Rollberg. Oh all the movies are played in the original language, with subtitles, which I think is great. I refuse to watch i.e. any English movies that are dubbed as it takes away from the atmosphere of the movie and often the translations are just bad... so I love the Yorck Kinos!!

Long overdo for a worthy review. I normally would not see a movie while on holiday but being that…read morenearly everything is closed even large chain companies like ALL SAINTS on a Sunday in Europe. Even some of the restaurants were closed. I stumbled upon this indie theater that laid within a courtyard. You enter first an alley which walls are covered in street art. Murals and tons of wheat paste posters decorate the walls. Tables of a coffee shop and people roaming the little shops and a hidden bar is what welcomes you. Kino Central is not playing the run of the mill films, no you will indie films are played here. Though I had seen Searching for Sugarman we thought it to be cool to see it with German subtitles. Best part is that you can grab a beer or wine and take it in with you. The theater is small nothing huge nor fancy.
