On June 2, 2022 Matt Hasani, owner of USAPainting requested & received $4,500.00 on the day he was…read moresupposed to paint my house. He then made one excuse after another why he couldn't do the job. He never showed up for the job and only returned one phone call the week after June 2nd. It's now July 19,2022 and he still will not respond to my phone calls or text messages and obviously never showed up to do the job. Have filed case with the Az Registrar of Contractors and against his surety bond. He won't even return calls from his insurance company! USA Painting owned by Matt Hasani is a bad risk!!!

In December of 2019, I contracted USA Painting in Prescott to paint my house. I also paid him…read more$1,000 to fix the roof. We noticed that there were paint drippings on many of the windows. When we told him about it, he denied any responsibility saying that the windows were covered during the painting. We showed him that many of the windows had been replaced in October of 2019, two months before the painting had been done and they had paint drippings on them. With that he reluctantly agreed to have someone come out and look when he could find the time. He finally did have someone come out and take care of most of the windows. In January, work on the roof had not begun. On Feb 9th, I asked him to cancel the roof repair work and refund my money. He texted, "Okay, no problem". He wrote me a check for $1,000. When deposited, it was returned as insufficient funds. I texted Mr. Hasani on March 9th, "Matt, I deposited the check that you gave me and it was no good - it bounced. I need you to take care of the debt." No response. On the April 16th, I texted, "Hello Matt, I have not heard from you concerning the bounced check. Are you going to take care of it?" He replied, "Yes I will." "Need lilebite time" On the May 20th, I texted, "Matt, I have not heard from you for over a month. You have not redeemed the bad check that you sent. I insist that you refund the $1,000 by the first of June. If you are unwilling to do so, I will have to take measures. This will include a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, issuing social media on the experience of working with you and a claim through Small Claims Court. If I do not receive a refund check by June 1st, I will initiate action." I did not receive any reply. On May 29th, I texted, "Matt this is my final warning. You owe me $1,000. In addition, you gave me a bad check. If I have not received payment from you by Monday, I will have no option but to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, file information with online social media sites like Yelp and other. Fix it now before it is too late." He did not reply to me. On June 2nd, I texted, "Matt, I have not heard from you concerning paying me back for the $1,000 you have cheated me out of so far. You mention on your website that you are insured and bonded. I demand that you provide me with the name of the organization that has bonded USA Painting. I also demand that you send me the name of your insurance agency that has you insured." He did not respond to my demand. I am of the opinion that he is not bonded nor insured. I have no proof of that, but his refusal to supply me with information leads me to that conclusions. I would encourage anyone working with Mr. Hasani to obtain proof of these prior to working with him. I think that it would also be a good idea to get proof of workman's compensation coverage. Whatever you do, do not pay him upfront, pay him only after he completes the work.

From my experience, I would advise you to save your time, energy and money and go with some other…read morecompany. In my opinion- There were so many things that went wrong with this job that I can't list them all. I will list the main issues: We hired them to paint our 1300 square-foot house (just one color) and to do laminate flooring throughout the whole house. We were quoted that the painting would take one week. We were quoted that the flooring would take one week; we did add replacing the baseboards but that would still not take 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, I had to end the job. All of our personal belongings had been in the garage for those four weeks as we waited for the job to be completed - unable to move into our house and move on with our life. We were also waiting to purchase our appliances until the floor was done, so we had no way to prepare food - so we ate out at restaurants for four weeks as we waited for the house to get done. Talk about a huge extra cost. The other major issue was that I was due to go back to work, remotely - they knew that deadline was a drop dead date and still didn't complete the job on time. There was so much overspray on the entire house that we will be cleaning it up for years to come - including our skylights, front door, every single window and various sconces, light bulbs, light switches, electric outlets and our thermostat. When they tried to fix some of the painting errors, they actually dropped more paint onto the brand new floor that they just installed. The workers never showed up on time and would work a few hours then leave for a few hours then come back for like one or two more hours then call it a day and leave again. There were only three days in four weeks that we had a 'full' team working on the house - for the whole day. One of the workers was amazing and we really liked him. In my opinion, he is the one shining star in this entire four week nightmare. He did most of the work, had attention to detail and was courteous and compassionate. In my opinion, the rest of the team needs much more training, not only on how to do their jobs better but also attention to detail, paying attention in general, cleaning up after themselves, and the very simple meaning of integrity. When I tried to tell the owner of all the issues we had he actually had the audacity to argue with me. He was not here each day to see the lack of labor - me and my husband were. At one point I sent him a text asking if anyone was going to show up and work since it was already 10:30 am on a Tuesday. He didn't respond to me. There were parts of the job that never got completed. As soon as they picked up their last check - they told us they'd be back to fix what they hadn't finished... it's been 6 months and no one has fixed anything and they won't. In my experience- this company ripped us off. The damage they did to the floor, as they installed it, is not repairable- so now we need to replace the entire floor, for the massive mistakes they made. The painting was mediocre at best, but all the work my husband and I have had to do to clean the mess they made, has been very frustrating. The real awful thing about all this is that we are going to have to replace our whole floor. ** response to the reply by contractor** The spots of paint were NOT removed, especially in the kitchen. The pictures I took were within the last month. No one knew about the mold (or else we would have told you) and that was actually one thing you guys did fix really well. We didn't ADD plumbing- we asked your guys to fix broken valves. Which was done. The person you allege that we 'pulled for landscaping' - OFFERED TO help chop down ONE STUMP, which is NOT LANDSCAPING. And took all of 10 minutes... Nobody told us that any one on your team had COVID. Your staff just didn't showed up.xx I did not mention previously that you turned the water OFF OVERNIGHT AND NEVER TOLD US - leaving us and our animals without water all night and part of the next day - in JUNE. You took down all our blinds to paint and never re-installed them Your team disconnected all our security contacts off the windows and never reinstalled them. Then completely covered our motion sensor in our living room with paint, rendering our security system worthless. The reason I waited this long to say anything is so that I could calm down - I have been very upset. And you were well aware of how upset I was with things. I didn't want to write a review from a place of anger, I just wanted to state facts and my experience. Your history of lack of responding/communicating or taking any responsibility during the job, left me feeling like you completely didn't care. When a contractor cares, it shows in their honesty, integrity, caring about the job and quality of the work. Actions always speak louder than words.
