This used to be my favorite cinema in the 2 years I had to live in Paderborn. The theaters have a…read moregood size, sound and picture are as good as in any other cinema. The food is as overpriced as anywhere. Best thing though is that sometimes (sadly not as often as I'd have liked) movies are shown in English. As someone who can't stand dubbing, this was a very welcome way to see new movies immediately and not having to wait for the DVD release.

The good thing about this movie theater is that they also show quite a few movies with original…read moresound, i.e. not the dubbed German version. Definitely a plus for English speaking natives, and film enthusiasts. The prices are what you would expect from a large city theater these days. Slightly steep, but still affordable. On 3D movies it gets a bit on the ridiculous side though. The seats are very comfortable and I've usually found it to be quite tidy. I never noticed anything that bothers me about screen and sound in the cinemas. Apart from occasionally being a bit to loud. But maybe that's just me.

The 3 screens (1 main screen on upper level, 2 small screens on lower level) provide a great selection of art-house, international or alternative films. The atmosphere is quite relaxed, and not like the cookie-cutter cineplexes. Wine, beer and espresso drinkes are available, as well as the standard snacks (but no popcorn). Arrive early for shows, since they are often full.
