I recently checked this Cafe out when on holiday with 5 others. Being that we were all Portuguese, futebol fans, of course Figo fans, and coming from New York, we were very excited to try this establishment. After we did a yacht trip out of the marina, we stopped in for lunch and drinks. We were attracted by the prime location, views, and overall atmosphere. We later found, the lunch service and food was mediocre at best. A few nights later, after dining and bar crawling the seemingly endless pubs nearby, we decided we wanted to get a round of cold cocktails and sit in the attractive outdoor sofas at Sete Cafe. The place was somewhat crowded, so we stood awaiting someone, anyone, to greet and seat us. After about 5 minutes, we walked across the street to the main bar to order drinks directly, which we would then carry back to the outdoor seating across the street. Again, service was nearly non-existent. We then walked back across the street and sat down in a sofa area. We managed to flag down what seemed like the only server and ordered a round of cold margheritas, no salt. Alas! ... NOT! After waiting about 10 mins and contemplating leaving for an ice bath somewhere, we noticed "thee" server who was just done wrapping up his cigarro by the trash bins, carrying our drinks towards us which had net-zero ICE and SALT. I think if we would have drank them we would have died of dehydration. Before he ran off, we told him to just give us the bill, we paid and left.
Only reason for any star here is for the location and atmosphere. I suggest getting a fino or two then leave. Figo needs to ramp up his staff and get an ice machine. read more
