Don't expect eveything to be the same thing G as the USA for the people looking to get the same…read morequality. For Mexico, I believe the service and the cleanliness was in the 90th percentile. This hotel is located on the 3rd level of a small shopping facility. Cabs are usually waiting for you downstairs for your convenience. I had a personal driver with me at all times so that was not needed. However, if you are looking to go to a local joint, you might need to hitch a cab ride as there really isn't anything close to it. There is a small mall within 5min and a home depot next to the hotel. The room itself was big enough for any travelers. There was a shower stall which was sufficient enough for me to shower. Some people need bath tub but you might not get lucky if you have the cheapest room. The toilet flushing is always a case in other countries and this seemed to be the one as well. Not too sure why it doesn't flush in one shot but that's just my problem. Safety deposit box is there for your important belongings. Iron board and iron was there as well. They give you 1 bottle of water which is usually not enough for you to be hydrated during the night. The gym was big enough but not much exercise machine in there. If I remember correctly, 3 treatmills, 1 elliptical machine, and 2 bicycle, and free weights. Good enough for me but the elliptical machine was on its way out. Staffs were friendly and tried their best to accommodate you. Be nice and you will get the respect of getting that in return. Morning breakfast was great with fresh fruits and other tasty treats to energize you throughout the day.

Overall my stay at the Hotel Zocalo was ok. I wanted to love this hotel because it's close to so…read moremany places...after all it's in the Zocalo, but my issue with the hotel was that our room was waaaay too small. Hubby and I paid for a deluxe King room and for the price that was paid we expected much better. Our room felt cramped and on top of that there was construction happening on the building next to where our room was and the construction went on until about 11 pm at night which was honestly quite irritating. Sadly I did not take pictures of the room, I messed up on that part but trust when I say the room was small. The view of the hotel itself is marvelous and upon arrival we were offered a complementary shot of tequila or wine (shot preferred) The breakfast was ok, hubby enjoyed his breakfast. I did not care for the hotcakes though.

Hotel Zócalo Central We had a very positive experience…read moreduring our week stay, starting from about 2 days before we even arrived. Reservations contacted me by email about transportation from MEX airport to the hotel. Since our flight arrived about 10:30PM, we made advance arrangements for that service via an App link they sent me. I also made a restaurant reservation before leaving home. Everyone we came into contact with was very helpful. All the streets near the hotel were closed off (security reasons) the day we had arranged, via the consignere, for a taxi to meet our food tour. The desk clerk rescheduled our taxi and got someone to escort us to the new pickup point a few blocks away. We are so grateful for that. We would have lost our food tour money if the staff had not gone above the expected. The staff was unfailingly patient with us being none-Spanish speakers. Our room was larger than we expected. In July 2024, we booked a Family Room plan that included breakfast, all tips, 2 double beds at 59% reduction during their "Summer Sale". There was plenty of drawer space to unpack for the week and a safe for our passports. There was a decent room view. Take the free daily tour done by a professional guide on your 1st day to get oriented. Only thing missing was a fridge and microwave for us Americans. But you won't miss them because you get free snacks from Cafe Central near the lobby, 24/7. That includes beer but not wine or tequila. I had some delicious chicken soup from the cafe. I also got ice in a cup from the cafe. Free chilled bottled water is in a hall fridge. I would stay here again. It is central to everything in CDMX and near a subway stop.
