It reopened recently! Went as soon as we found out. Look s the same as it was so I am not sure why it was closed so long. That being said it's not fancy on the inside but I am there for the food. It's clean but could use some updating. Staff were friendly and attentive as usual. Food was good but didn't seem to be at the same level they were before they closed. Might have been a new cook. It's still the best Mexican in the area.

    Burrito Fiesta Brava

Got: Monster burritos, tamales, shrimp tacos, fajitas, sopa azteca, ceviche Price: $10 for burrito, ~$10 per item Value: Great value, tasty, included salsa and chips AS OF 8/10/20, they offer DINE-IN or OUTDOOR seating. Portions are LARGE and the value is great. Filling and hearty. The tamales I ordered (2 for $6.50) was considered an appetizer/side but was in itself a whole meal. The burritos pics don't have anything in them for a scale but lemme just say they're THICC bois. at least a foot in length and 5 inches in diameter, one filled up my hungry football player bro easily (he eats a lot x_x). For around $10, it was a great value. Shrimp tacos were slightly salty but plump and fresh, ceviche portion was large. Maybe not the freshest seafood but the way it's seasoned and prepared definitely makes it delicious and overall appealing. The bad, some flies were buzzing around the food, though can't really blame them as it was summertime. Orders were slightly different. We ordered steak for the fajitas but ended up with chicken. Not a big deal, maybe we should've spoken up, but something just to be aware of. Seemed understaffed but maybe this could've been to Covid. Overall: Great value, tasty food, speak up when ordering, leave with a food coma or pack the left overs (or both)

Portions are huge! The food is good and tasty. They serve chips and salsa with every order. Margaritas are also delicious and cheap! Service is unpredictable. Sometimes it's really good and sometimes it seems understaffed. Everyone is very nice though.

    Tacos carne asada

Being from San Diego I was really craving carne asada with good guacamole. Who would'a thought that I would have found it in Corning, New York? Everything was perfect. It was so good I came back again a couple of days later. I was only in town for six days. The guacamole tasted fresh and the carne asada meat was cooked well. I was even impressed with the Mexican rice. I would definitely go back if ever I'm in Corning again.

By far one of the best Mexican restaurants I ever had. We ordered chicken fajitas, steak and burritos and were all done perfect. The waiter was super kind helpful. We will definitely come back here on our next visit.

The tables looked like the lunch rush had just came through and were not wiped all the way clean. Now one thing I never seen anywhere else was they had cleaner/sterilizer at every table with a roll of paper towels. Maybe they assumed each customer would clean the tables themselves or it was to make it easy for whoever was cleaning the tables. They have a normal amount of options for a burrito shop. What they don't have is salsa with the chips. I know places like Chipotle and Moes (Chain places) have the salsa bar. Most other burrito places I have been that are not chains will give you a small container of salsa or queso being an additional charge. We both got steak burrito's and I should have tried something else so we could review two options. The burritos are bigger than what the chain places offer. Flavor a little different. My wife said something was off with the steak I just thought it was over salted. It was very soft and was in an almost gravy looking juice. I have been to some places that ask every option and places that stand there and wait for you to tell them. This was a little of both. Not as many options as a chain restaurant. The staff seemed pretty friendly and we didn't have any issues with anyone. The food was at best ok. Great for the area it is in. All in all an ok experience. I will probably try them again with a different selection.

Every time I lament the fact I spent money to eat there... I had read that this was a good one on the 'Where Syracuse Eats' Facebook page, which can be a pit of snakes at times. I decided to bookmark it, as a 'just in case' I was ever passing through Waterloo. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical when my mom and I walked in around 5:30-5:45 p.m. and not a soul was in the place. Apparently, people in Waterloo eat dinner around 6 p.m. so the place was popping as we were eating and then leaving. My mom is a vegetarian so we shared the vegetarian combo D plate. I ate the tostaguac and she had the enchilada, and we shared the rice. I normally find the rice at Mexican restaurants to be underwhelming, even at my favorite spot in Detroit. This was delicious and I ate it! (There may have been some debate on who should get the last few bites of rice!) I also ordered a side of their hot salsa. I think this was $2 but it was so good and so worth it. The regular salsa was fine but not spicy at all. Service was fast once we decided what to order. No pictures because I was too excited by an actual Mexican place within a reasonable distance from me! Skip the places in Syracuse and come to La Fiesta Brava!

I just... didn't. I've been following them on Facebook for a while, and I finally timed things so that I was free from meetings and could drive over to their location to grab lunch that day (sidenote: I was also at my intermittent fasting window... which meant I was READY to get some tasty food!). I found the My Eva truck at the location noted on their Facebook page for that day, approached the truck, checked out the menu, and ordered a couple different items to sample: a chicken quesadilla, nachos with pork, and 3 al pastor tacos (not the combo, just the tacos). While it felt like service was slow, I'm actually not deducting stars for that. I had read on their Facebook page that they were understaffed and asking for patience, so I expected some delays. Also, a member of the team had asked what car I was in when I ordered and offered to bring the food to my car so that I didn't have to wait in the rain. Wanting to support (somewhat) local, I also provided a 25% tip on my order... which, having now tried the food, feels overly generous. Sadly, I've just never tasted any Mexican food that was so... lacking in flavor. The chicken quesadilla was more oily on the outside than anything (I only ate 3 bites), the pork on the nachos was super fatty/rubbery (couldn't finish the nachos), and there was very little *to* my al pastor tacos (why not throw some *actual* pineapple in there? Or provide different options for salsa... as opposed to watered down hot salsa, etc... and also, flour tortillas that didn't seem stale? That would help). Everything just missed the mark. So disappointing. Maybe something's gone awry due to the staffing issues? I have no idea. I just know that if my food today is indicative of anything, then I won't be back. While I appreciate the pleasant service, there are a lot of other restaurants out there that can offer both pleasant service + quality food. In my experience, My Eva isn't one of them... so I won't be returning. I hope other folks have better lunch with food from this truck than I did. :-/
