Our extended family stayed at The Fieldhead Hotel in 6 rooms over Easter 2010 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We had 2 double rooms, which also had their own private balconies, 2 twin and 2 family rooms. All with their own bathrooms with showers and the most wonderful sea views.
The weather was glorious too.
We dined in every night. The 4 course menu with an optional sorbet course was changed each day and was always very appetising, beautifully presented and with service to match. Interesting and seemingly good value wine list too.
I have stayed in a few hotels yet I cannot remember ever having such an extensive, interesting and varied breakfast menu with such items as Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs, and, something the Proprietor promotes, really tasty Kippers which he says are local. Eggs Benedict and even Omelettes of our choice. That set us up for the day.
We did spoil ourselves and have a cream tea one afternoon and excellent it was too.
The Proprietor works very hard, is hands-on and does really care for his guests.
Great relaxing stay despite the children and really recommend this hotel. read more
